Munich, May 10, 2018 – Fujitsu announces exclusive hardware sponsorship for hyprspace1 – Germany’s first startup house, located in Munich, a creative and inspiring environment where early-stage startups can accelerate their development. Fujitsu is providing advanced collaboration technologies such as creative digital displays, notebooks and desktop PCs for 17 residents living and working in hyprspace, with user feedback providing valuable insights for Fujitsu’s Future Workplace product testing programs.
Startup houses were pioneered in the San Francisco / Bay Area and are now starting to appear in Europe - hyprspace was the first to open in Germany. Located in Munich, the 485 square meter hyprspace combines work with everyday life for its 17 residents, who are active in the startup ecosystem across diverse technology areas including E-Mobility, FinTech, E-Learning, Industry 4.0 and Smart Jewelry.
As exclusive hardware sponsor, Fujitsu has equipped the house with notebooks and desktop PCs – ensuring that access to powerful technology is a key element of the coliving house. Powering inspiration throughout the house are featherweight, ultra-portable Fujitsu Notebook LIFEBOOK U937 models, weighing just 920g. At the heart of more formal get-togethers, hyprspace rooms feature Fujitsu Desktop ESPRIMO Q957 PCs connected to 55-inch, full HD Fujitsu Display XL55-1 touchscreens.
Heinz Wagner, Head of Future Workplace offerings, Client Computing Devices at Fujitsu, says: “The way we work is changing, and that rate of change is still accelerating. Initiatives like hyprspace provide important insights for Fujitsu, allowing us to develop human-centric Future Workplace technologies that anticipate and satisfy the needs of people and organizations in the future. Startups operate in the hottest of hothouse environments where these trends are most visible; therefore, we expect to learn a lot from our collaboration with hyprspace.”
Florian Oberhofer, co-founder of hyprspace, comments: “Collaboration is what gets startups over the hurdles they face in their early stages. They don’t have the resources to recruit all the skills and experience needed, so living in a community where these can be shared is a massive advantage. Fujitsu’s deep commitment to collaborative working and its sponsorship will give us access to the latest technologies for supporting people in co-creation projects and driving faster growth.”
