News facts:
  • Fujitsu has secured 10 Million-plus Euro contract to install and manage devices and back-end services for more than 6,000 Ministry of Security and Justice employees
  • Co-created solution addresses complex security and technology requirements, and manages all workplace devices
  • Virtualized environment provides improved flexibility and security for the Ministry while future-proofing hardware and enhancing productivity
Munich, November 23, 2017 - Fujitsu has won a five-year contract worth more than 10 Million Euro to deliver its user-centric managed workplace services to 6,000-plus employees at the Ministry of Security and Justice in the Netherlands. By virtualizing and managing the government office’s workplace, Fujitsu will not only ensure that the Public Prosecutor’s Office maintains a highly secure, transparent and reliable infrastructure but also boost collaboration, productivity and satisfaction by enabling employees to work more flexibly and efficiently.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship with the Dutch government, where Fujitsu delivers client hardware. The Ministry awarded the new managed workplace services contract to Fujitsu – recognized among industry leading providers by independent analyst firm Gartner1 – following a successful tender.
Fujitsu was selected by the Ministry of Justice for having demonstrated its deep understanding of the Ministry’s unique requirements. These include close collaboration with a state-run data center which houses the back end of the digital workplace services and a ‘zero footprint’ set-up which means that no data is held locally on laptops.
Luc Boelhouwer, IT Director at the Public Prosecutor’s Office, says: "Digital Transformation is all around us, raising customer expectations for our responsiveness and transparency. We wanted to modernize our whole approach to IT, to keep pace with the rapid rate of technological change. The solution offered by Fujitsu gives us a clear and simple migration path towards the flexibility and security we need, while future-proofing our hardware to build the workplace of the future, today.”
Ramanan Ramakrishna, Head of Service Innovation and Portfolio at Fujitsu EMEIA, comments: "Forward-looking organizations are moving towards workplace strategies more closely aligned to the needs of their employees. We’ve worked closely with the Ministry of Justice in the Netherlands to move away from a desktop-focused approach, co-creating a workplace transformation. The result gives Ministry employees an enhanced user experience and more effective collaboration platforms, which have also helped improve productivity and user acceptance. Now the tools and technology they need are at their fingertips, whenever and wherever they need them. The Ministry is enjoying significant benefits, including increased productivity and staff satisfaction from choosing to partner with Fujitsu to modernize and streamline its infrastructure.”
The agreement hands responsibility for all the Ministry’s devices to Fujitsu, which is providing a seamless transition. The Ministry’s employees are receiving Fujitsu LIFEBOOK notebooks, configured and personalized for individual roles and responsibilities. Fujitsu is also providing the Ministry of Justice with rapid-response technical support, based on service level agreements.
