Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia hailed the launch of the RAP as an important milestone in Fujitsu’s diversity journey.
“The ICT industry at large has been challenged by concerns around diversity and inclusion for some time. Fujitsu has taken a determined approach in acknowledging and adopting a series of initiatives to address these challenges within our industry. This Reconciliation Action Plan is a further commitment by Fujitsu to drive change not only within our own organisation, but within society.”
“We know that digital technology is transforming business, society and the everyday lives of people. By partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, businesses and communities we will help achieve Fujitsu’s vision of an equitable, prosperous and rewarding digital future. I look forward to new ways to deliver value with our customers, employees and community partners as a result of implementing the actions in this RAP”.
Liam Ridgeway, co-founder of Indigitek, a not-for-profit organisation that supports the growth of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), said “It’s important that global ICT enterprises like Fujitsu are able to support the development and growth of Indigenous Australians in STEM. Fujitsu’s RAP demonstrates their commitment to participate in positive and impactful change in this area and we look forward to collaborating with them on their journey”.
The RAP was established by a six member RAP working group in August 2016 to develop and engage in activities to promote Fujitsu Australia’s vision for reconciliation. Fujitsu Australia’s RAP Working Group led the development of the RAP in collaboration with Reconciliation Australia, Fujitsu’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, customers and community groups.
A strategic priority for Fujitsu is creating an equitable and sustainable tomorrow, with the organisation setting key performance deliverables in regard to finding new ways to deliver value to their customers and community partners as a result of implementing the RAP.
Fujitsu Australia will continue to work with Reconciliation Australia to share its outcomes-based approach and considerations with the RAP community.
