Just Jeans Group, the leading specialty retailer in Australasia, has signed a $2.8 million deal with Fujitsu Australia for a 650-store nationwide revamp of its point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
The Just Jeans Group employs over 4,000 people in Australia and New Zealand and operates under several well-known retail brands such as Just Jeans, Jay-Jays, JacquiE and Portmans.
Fujitsu's TeamPOS 2000 is a sophisticated retail platform designed to help reduce costs, improve customer service, support advanced loyalty schemes and simplify the way retailers manage in-store technologies. Combining the best of PC-based technology and specialised POS systems, TeamPOS 2000 helps retailers get up and running fast.
According to Peter Dostis, IT Manager, Just Jeans Group, the key to Fujitsu's success in winning the contract was the value and quality of its product and service.
"We wanted more functionality at the store, together with lower ongoing maintenance costs, from a tier-one supplier," he said.
Opposing bids were price competitive, but when Just Jeans conducted real-world trials for installation, accessibility and compatibility, the Fujitsu platform came out "top in every test", Dostis said.
Featuring dual hard disks and improved connectivity, the deployment of TeamPOS 2000 offers the Just Jeans Group improved redundancy, lower downtime, easier maintenance and superior upgrade paths. Available in several models, TeamPOS 2000 is built from the ground up to be rugged and reliable. It features industry-leading tolerance for conditions found in typical retail environments, including variable temperature, humidity, dust, vibration and electrostatic discharge. This ensures TeamPOS 2000 can operate reliably over long periods of time in the harshest retail environments.
Fujitsu's track record with previous satisfied customers was also pivotal. Just Jeans' inspection of reference sites such as 7-Eleven and Coles Myer demonstrated Fujitsu's experience in delivering large-scale POS installations and showed how TeamPOS 2000 provided significant working advantages over PC-based alternatives.
