ANNOUNCEMENT
Fujitsu unveils 1FINITY L310/L320 Open Line System to unleash terabit speeds for data center interconnect

September 28, 2023

Today, Fujitsu introduced the 1FINITY™ L310/L320 Open Line System (OLS) to enable terabit networking in data center interconnect (DCI) networks. The new Fujitsu 1FINITY OLS platform is the first 150 GHz fixed line system to fully support the latest generation of 135 Gigabaud (GBd) transponders, such as next-generation pluggable optics and the 1FINITY T900 Series Transponder.

As networking demands escalate, data centers require a more cost-effective, efficient way to transmit point-to-point dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) signals. The 1FINITY L310/L320 OLS delivers terabit line rates in a plug-and-play platform that offers low cost and simple operation compared to ROADM architectures.

With the ability to operate at higher rates, enable longer reach and support transponders using 130+ GBd digital signal processors (DSPs), the compact, modular 1FINITY L310/L320 OLS platform is ideal for a range of network configurations, including fiber protection and channel protection.

“Fujitsu 1FINITY L310/L320 OLS offers the most cost-effective approach available to realize terabit speeds in data center interconnect networks,” said Paul Havala, vice president, head of business offerings for the photonics systems business unit at Fujitsu. “With a plug-and-play configuration, this flexible OLS platform is simple to deploy and operate, enabling today’s hyperscale data centers and cloud providers to quickly scale up terabit networks even as they minimize operating costs.”

The Fujitsu 1FINITY L310/L320 OLS platform is expected to be generally available in early 2024. To learn more, schedule a meeting with Fujitsu at ECOC 2023 in meeting room MR18 or attend a Fujitsu research presentation, October 1-5 in Glasgow, Scotland.
