RAID Migration allows data volumes to be moved between different-sized RAID groups while maintaining data integrity and allowing normal business to continue. Server access is not affected and operations continue with users unaware of any changes occurring.
Migrating RAID5 (3+1) based on 300GB disk drives to RAID5 (3+1) based on 450GB disk drives, and defining a new LUN2 in the free space.
Migrating LUN1 in RAID5 (3+1) to a different sized RAID 1+0
" LUN Expansion function" that allows for logical volume (LUN) expansion during migration is also provided.
