In ETERNUS disk storage systems, each member disk drive of a RAID group is located in a different Drive Enclosure. This keeps the RAID group accessible even when one whole Drive Enclosure becomes unusable.
In addition, with support of RAID6 (double parity), two disk drive failures occurring in the same RAID group can be recovered. This ensures exceptional reliability.
The figure shown below is the image with ETERNUS8000. The configuration will differ depending on the product.
