Fujitsu Updates ScanSnap Series with New Software Functions
Fujitsu adds link between document scanners and iPads, iPhones and cloud services

Fujitsu has updated its ScanSnap series of compact and speedy one-touch "paper-to-PDF" personal document scanners with new functions, including scanning for iPad / iPhone and additional cloud services to support the needs of today’s consumers. The new models are available immediately around the world.
More and more customers around the world are choosing the ScanSnap series personal document scanners both for work and personal use because they are most efficient at carrying out one-touch speedy digitization of paper documents to PDF files.
To give consumers more value from their scanned documents, Fujitsu has enhanced the popular ScanSnap series with functions that sync scanned documents to iPad and iPhone devices, in addition to a wider range of online services. Due to the surge in popularity of smartphones and tablet PCs as well as the steady adoption of cloud computing, users can store digital information and make periodic backups at nearly any location.
The new ScanSnap series effectively integrate paper-based content with new technologies, enabling customers to share information from things like memos and office documents on a grand scale. By expanding the syncing capabilities of ScanSnap with portable devices and cloud services, Fujitsu helps users achieve their document digitizing goals and promote a paperless lifestyle – simply and speedily.
Product Features
1. Scan content to iPad and iPhone devices
The ScanSnap Connect Application lets users scan memos, flyers and magazine clippings directly to an iPad or iPhone via wireless connection with a ScanSnap-installed PC for convenient viewing on the go. The app is available for free from the Apple App Store.¹ ²
2. Scan to cloud services
The ScanSnap Quick Menu uses icon buttons that allow users to connect digitized documents to an application, simply and efficiently. The latest Quick Menu features additional buttons that instantly upload scanned content to various cloud services. With these new cloud functions, ScanSnap is ready to play a significant role in various business ecosystems.³

Users can stay connected with documents wherever they go with SugarSync, one of today's premier online cloud storage services.4 Through file syncing, this service can back up scanned documents as they’re saved on a PC for convenient and secure data archiving.
• Scan to Salesforce Chatter
Users can scan various customer-related documents with ScanSnap and save the image data to the powerful Salesforce Chatter online collaboration tool. This function, when combined with the Scan to Salesforce CRM function for business cards, enables users to efficiently collect and utilize customer data.
3. Use Rack2-Filer V5.0 (Windows® only) - ScanSnap's image archiving and application partner
Users have bestowed high ratings on the intuitive, graphics-rich interface of Rack2-Filer. The latest version of the digital filing and management application boasts expanded features,5 including:
• Seamless linking to iPhone/iPad devices and cloud services
Like the new ScanSnap, Rack2-Filer has added functions that push digital data to iPhone and iPad devices and cloud services so customers can conveniently view and use filed documents.5
• Photo album function
File not just scanned photos, but a wide range of paper media – office documents, business cards and post cards – with this function, then edit and page through them on a PC like a real photo album using Rack2-Filer’s highly acclaimed virtual interface.
Current ScanSnap S1500/1500M/S1300/S1100 users and Rack2-Filer V5.0 users can incorporate these new software functions through an update program available free of charge from the ScanSnap and Rack2-Filer websites.6
