Fujitsu today announces the launch of its latest one-socket PRIMERGY servers, which provide market-leading performance and long-term value while minimizing management time and costs. Ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), branch offices and data centers, and powered by Intel®’s newly-available Xeon® processor E3-1200 series, the new PRIMERGY RX100 S7, TX140 S1 and TX120 S3 enable organizations to do more with less.

All three versatile servers are powerful, efficient and easy to manage, reducing the need for in-house IT resources and consequently dramatically shortening payback periods. Their expandable design ensures they deliver long term value, also protecting IT investment as they can be scaled up to meet changing business needs:

  • The modular PRIMERGY RX100 S7 fulfills a range of different scenarios including print and web, file or virtualization server, while its modular power supply can be used in most future PRIMERGY server models which simplify inventory.
  • The PRIMERGY TX140 S1 is an expandable all-round server for SMEs and branch offices, exhibiting great energy-efficient performance, a high storage capacity, plus a flexible rackable design. Designed to minimize environmental impact, its halogen-free printed circuit board makes disposal easier.
  • The PRIMERGY TX120 S3 meets the demands of organizations looking for high performance in small environments. It offers up to Intel® Xeon® processor E3 performance benefits, and a choice 2.5” or 3.5” base units, with high availability features, in an ultra-compact form-factor.

"We are excited to introduce the latest one-socket PRIMERGY servers, the perfect platform to form dynamic infrastructures for business processes today and in the coming decade, in Hong Kong. While SMEs in Hong Kong account for 50% of Hong Kong's economy and roughly 30% and 25% of them are in the import/export sector and wholesale/retail sector respectively¹, it is crucial for them to acquire reliable and scalable IT infrastructure for enabling the development of cross-border transactions and robust domestic businesses. Our new PRIMERGY servers, together with tailor-made service packages, ensure that our customers get the most from our hardware solutions," said Rikiya Kano, Product Marketing Manager, Solution & Marketing, Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited.

Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President Datacenter Systems at Fujitsu Technology Solutions says, "To compete successfully today, organizations need to work as productively as possible. Our new PRIMERGY servers provide efficiency by combining flexibility, performance and ease of management with cost effectiveness. Whatever the business challenge, we ensure that IT delivers long term value and underpins ongoing success."

Market-leading performance is confirmed by independent SPEC benchmarks that demonstrate the efficiency, low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and high performance of the PRIMERGY TX140 S1 in typical operations carried out by small businesses and branch offices. In recent tests it achieved energy efficiency benchmarks 42% above the previous SPEC record, as well as best in class software processing performance².

Says Boyd Davis, Vice President of Intel's Data Center Group Marketing, "Fujitsu's next generation PRIMERGY servers have taken advantage of the capabilities of the Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 product family to deliver the enhanced responsiveness, energy efficiency, and high productivity that SME customers demand."

Fujitsu's PRIMERGY RX100 S7 and TX140 S1 servers will be available globally from June 2011. The TX120 S3 will be available to order from June in all markets. In the Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa and India region this TX 120 S3 is available only direct from Fujitsu on a project basis. Pricing varies by region.
