eLux™ - Thin Client Operating System
eLux™ is a hardware independent operating system for cloud-computing environments. It is based on a write-protected file system and therefore safe from computer viruses and other malware, even without using special Antivirus Software. The administration is carried out centrally through the optional management solution Scout Enterprise. eLux™ has been continuously developed and enhanced since the year 2000. Over one million Thin Clients in 45 countries are based on the eLux™ operating system.

Scout Enterprise Management
Scout Enterprise is the management solution for thin clients and PCs working with the operating system eLux™. Furthermore, it is possible to administrate the operating systems Windows® Embedded, Windows® Embedded Compact, WinCE and Windows® Embedded Standard 7 with Scout Enterprise.
With the help of Scout Enterprise the administrator can define the eLux™ software image for the thin clients and the PCs of a complete company and – according to the user requirements – the administrator can integrate a relevant application package into the software image. For this procedure the tool ELIAS (eLux™ Image Administration Service) is on hand – to create the individual software image without special knowledge of Linux. Additionally it is possible with the eLux™ Builder Kit to produce individual eLux™-packages and integrate them into the operating system.
