  • Enterprise Windows 10 users to enjoy a ‘consumer like’ experience without compromising corporate security control and governance.
  • Fujitsu applies Microsoft inbuilt enterprise management and security functionality to ensure effective corporate policy management, access privileges and continuous version updates.

Sydney, December 14, 2016 – In the next step for Fujitsu’s ‘workplace anywhere’ vision, the global ICT leader today announced an Australian partnership with Microsoft to launch Windows 10 express service. The new capability will see Fujitsu provide the deployment and management of a secure, enterprise managed Windows 10 environment for its Australian customers using pre-built templates and integrations Digital Workplace with Office365, InTune and Azure.

The Fujitsu Windows 10 express service allows Fujitsu to quickly migrate customers to a Windows 10 Operating Environment and then, using Microsoft Management tools to set policies, manage rights and privileges, test functionality and deliver updates across a digital workplace. In addition, Fujitsu will provide second and third line support for any incidents or service requests from customers.

Fujitsu’s approach uses the native integration with Microsoft cloud management tools to provide a ‘light touch’ approach to enterprise management, where the security and governance needs of corporate IT are maintained while also enabling a consumer-like functionality for users.

Bridget Murphy, Vice President, Strategy, Solutions & Marketing, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said the approach is closely aligned to the company’s overall vision focused on enabling customers through their digital transformation and delivering human centric innovation.

“In refining this solution we have addressed the needs of the human, first - to encourage innovation while also increasing autonomy and overall satisfaction. For years the typical corporate IT department has had to define the approach to the corporate desktop. With the inbuilt management capability of Windows 10 we are now able to provide enterprise users with more flexible configurations while still satisfying the needs of corporate IT. This flexibility applies to the installation of applications, customisation of desktop backgrounds and various options that until now have been locked down as part of the corporate SOE ”.

“Fujitsu is delighted to have worked closely with Microsoft to be one of the first ICT providers in the Oceania region to offer a solution that addresses the digitalisation needs of end users without compromising the security and governance requirements of corporate IT. We are currently working with a number of our enterprise clients to help them on their Windows10 journey in terms of its migration and management,” she said.

The capability will help enterprises to reduce costs through reduction of IT support and administration, improve security through timely update management and ensure that users are always up to date with the latest version of the operating system. Users will experience improved productivity through the freedom to choose applications and configurations and a single sign on to provide access to all of Microsoft’s Cloud Services including SharePoint online, OneDrive for Business and Office 365 productivity and collaboration tools.

In an age of digital disruption where organisations are faced with the need to transform in order to meet the fast changing market demands whilst still serving the needs of their current business, Windows10 express can help to lead and accelerate the transformation to a digital workplace. The service caters for every user within an organisation, increasing the autonomy and productivity of staff and allowing those who can, to push the boundaries of innovation.

Evan Williams, Microsoft’s Director for Windows and Devices Australia, said: “Microsoft and Fujitsu have a long, successful partnership on a global scale and particularly within the Oceania region. We are delighted to see that Fujitsu has taken the lead in providing this capability to enterprise customers, one which will ultimately change the way working environments operate.”

Sabharinath Bala, Senior Research Manager, IDC Australia, said:”Windows 10 has witnessed strong traction in the enterprise segment in the last 6 months. Adoption is expected to accelerate as new chipsets are launched in 2017 which will have limited support of older Windows versions. Due to the inevitability of this migration, enterprises undoubtedly would need assistance from services providers with a proven track-record in managing such large workplace transformation projects handling migration complexities, and change management issues to navigate this challenging phase.
