Sydney, October 31, 2016 – TAFE Queensland and Fujitsu have announced that following an extensive tender process, Fujitsu has been appointed principal ICT support partner to TAFE Queensland. Under the $60M contract, Fujitsu will provide large-scale, critical services including Service Desk, End User Computing, Infrastructure Management, Network - LAN Support and Cross Functional Services. The support partnership will be key in supporting TAFE Queensland’s continued quality delivery to its 120,000 students annually.

Jodi Schmidt, CEO of TAFE Queensland said: “As the largest and most experienced provider of further education and training in Queensland, it is essential we have access to the most innovative, efficient and effective ICT services. The new contract provides significant cost savings through the use of innovative technology and includes additional services to staff and students that were not available under the previous arrangement. As part of the contract Fujitsu will apply the metrics of its ICT Sustainability Benchmark to provide a rapid assessment of TAFE Queensland opportunities to improve the cost effectiveness of delivering ICT services.
Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand said: “We are pleased to be working closely with TAFE Queensland and providing them with the innovative ICT services to enable the organisation to deliver quality training to over 120,000 students every year, across TAFE Queensland’s six regions. We are continuing to invest in a quality delivery capability in this Region and this opportunity builds on our recent successes in Queensland.”
The contract includes 38 locally based support staff across Australia, with Fujitsu to invest in a further 50 back office administrative roles in the Queensland team to deliver the support services.
