Fujitsu launches new best-in-class fi-Series business scanners

Fastest in class scanners automate digitisation of business data with unique productivity benefits

Sydney, November 05, 2013

Today Fujitsu Australia Limited announces the availability of its latest range of high-speed A4 image scanners. The fi-7180 and fi-7280 further automate the tasks of digitizing business data. Main features include new smart paper protection functions, better image and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and data capture, 33% faster performance and 60% greater document batch capacity.

Positioned as successors to the highly acclaimed fi-6140Z, fi-6240Z in the decentralized data capture market1, the new models are more compact and improve operator productivity.

Unique features include the world’s first scan noise detection technology. This allows the scanner to “listen” to the flow of paper through the device, warning the operator and stopping the scan before paper is damaged. In addition software enhancements and paper skew reduction technologies maintain high speed processing even when documents in a batch are of different thicknesses. The results are scanning of up 80 documents per minute in batches of up to 80 documents at a time, with excellent data capture quality and OCR conversion.

Main productivity features include;

  • faster startup times, improved by 80%,
  • scanning speeds of 80ppm/160ipm, 300dpi colour
  • loading capacity of 80 document batches
  • USB 3.0 support
  • Fail-safe high-speed scanning mechanisms making this new series the fastest in its class.2

In addition to the high-end models two new standard models are also available. fi-7160 and fi-7260 provide reduced cost options that operate at 60ppm/120ipm 300dpi colour, for excellent cost performance in locations with reduced scanning needs.

Fujitsu business scanners are available from distributor Proscan (proscan.com.au) and leading resellers.
