Fujitsu Returns Solid Result

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Wellington, August 24, 2010

Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology and communication solutions has today announced strong financial results for the year, recording a net profit after tax of $1.496 million for the year ended 31 March 2010. The result was generated from total operating revenues of $116.4 million representing a significant increase in profit from the previous year.

Managing Director of Fujitsu New Zealand, Stuart Stitt, described this as a solid result achieved in a challenging economic climate.

“Fujitsu achieved a growth in profit directly as a result of increased revenue from the New Zealand market, as in the previous year substantial revenue had come from work carried out in the Pacific Islands,” states Stuart Stitt. “Our increase in profit can be attributed largely to improved revenues in both the managed services and infrastructure solutions parts of the business.”

Although economically it was a challenging market, Fujitsu was able to achieve some significant milestones last year, including solid growth within their managed services business, increasing their service desk operations and in particular the opening of a new service desk in Auckland. Fujitsu also achieved a significant ICT infrastructure outsourcing win toward the end of the year.

“Building on the success of last year, we are continuing to win more new business and are extremely positive about the opportunities that lie ahead,” states Stuart Stitt.

Fujitsu is the world's third largest IT services organisation and currently employs over 560 staff and contractors in New Zealand.
