Sydney, July 08, 2010

Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology and communication solutions has today announced the latest release of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) software Interstage® XWand® Version 11 ,designed to help companies increase automation, transparency and governance around financial activities. Interstage XWand has been adopted by customers in 27 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the USA, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and South Africa.

XBRL, an international business reporting language, is the foundation of the Australian Government's  standard business reporting (SBR) program , where Fujitsu has partnered with the Australian Government to support the Australian Treasury's Standard Business Reporting Program to reduce the reporting burden for Australian businesses. XBRL is also used by regulators around the world including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the U.S., Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs Service in the U.K. and The Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan.

With support for tagging in Microsoft® Word and the ability to extend and customise in-house validation of reports before submission, the newest release of Interstage XWand allows clients to quickly and cost effectively adhere to the latest financial regulations.

Interstage XWand 11 also includes an out-of-the-box management dashboard allowing clients to easily conduct comparative analysis of financial data within their company as well as across multiple organisations.

Interstage XWand is the most popular software tool used for creating XBRL reports filed with the SEC and one of the most widely used software tools for XBRL filings worldwide. Interstage XWand 11, the newest offering from the product line, is the most globally ready XBRL solution compliant to worldwide rules, such as the EDGAR Filer Manual. The software also supports the latest specifications and best practices, such as XBRL 2.1, Dimensions, Formula 1.0, and Inline XBRL.

On a global scale, Fujitsu has been working closely with leading international agencies including the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Japan's Financial Service Agency, and other regulatory bodies to develop their taxonomies and build their XBRL processing platforms. Fujitsu has also worked closely with various enterprises, government organisations, and central banks around the world, all of which have embraced XBRL and embedded Interstage XWand in their platforms.

"As a leading XBRL software vendor and consultancy organisation, Fujitsu is heavily involved in XBRL global activities and our consultants from Australia play a leading role in supporting these initiatives," said Peter Campbell, Principal Architect in Fujitsu's XBRL team.

Leveraging these experiences and know-how, Fujitsu Interstage XWand 11 will continue to conform to the most up-to-date specifications and the latest rules issued by regulatory bodies worldwide.
