Fujitsu and Telegea join forces to help Australasian telcos improve provisioning and profitability of Internet telephony

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, June 21, 2004

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand and TeleGea, a leading provider of software solutions for the rapid delivery of hosted VoIP services, today announced a strategic partnership designed to help telecommunications providers better plan, provision and manage voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) telephony.

The agreement represents good news for service providers grappling with the technical and business challenges of deploying hosted VoIP services such as IP Centrex and Residential VoIP on a mass-market scale. While carriers have well-developed infrastructure to support traditional services, the absence of solutions tailored specifically to the requirements of IP communications has inhibited carriers' ability to offer commercially viable VoIP services. TeleGea's VoIP Delivery Management Solution™ provides industry-leading capabilities to address these challenges.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu will become an authorised reseller and certified integrator of TeleGea's VoIP Delivery Management Solution in Australia and New Zealand, extending an existing relationship.

"Simplifying service-provisioning and reducing cycle times remains a key challenge for service providers looking to deploy cost-effective VoIP services," said Mike Montgomery, Manager, Voice Solutions, Telecommunications, Fujitsu Australia. "Carriers need robust software that facilitates provisioning and service-level management to the same standards expected in traditional telephony. TeleGea's VoIP Delivery Management Solution is a unique, out-of-the-box offering that enables Fujitsu to help its customers rapidly deploy hosted VoIP services, grow subscriber numbers and reduce operational costs."

"The Asia Pacific region clearly represents a tremendous opportunity for VoIP services, and those service providers that can rapidly capture an early share of this growing market will ultimately be the ones to enjoy long term success," said Steven Domenikos, CEO of TeleGea. "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with an organisation that has the reach and depth of experience as Fujitsu. Together, we can offer a comprehensive product and service solution to ensure service providers make the most of this opportunity in hosted VoIP."

TeleGea's VoIP Delivery Management Solution combines automation, integration and visualisation capabilities that drive the entire process of delivering VoIP services from start to finish. Service providers seeking to capitalise on the growing market for VoIP services such as Residential VoIP and IP Centrex can rapidly scale their business while simultaneously increasing operating margins. TeleGea's solution simplifies and automates service-provisioning, enables customer self-management and supports multiple wholesale/resale service delivery channels.

As a member of the TeleGea strategic alliances program, Fujitsu supports TeleGea deployments throughout its technical support organisation. In addition, Fujitsu assists customers with system integration, network deployment and ongoing technical assistance.
