London, May 31, 2018 – Fujitsu in the UK has a very strong presence in the EMpower Ethnic Minority Role Models 2018 list which has been published today. Both Rupal Karia, Head of UK & Ireland, Public and Private Sectors, Fujitsu, and Maddy Reddy, Head of Pre Sales, Fujitsu UK & Ireland, were featured in the EMpower 100 Ethnic Minority Executives list, whilst Dewole Aradeon, Head of Sales Effectiveness, Fujitsu UK & Ireland, was named in the EMpower Top 50 Ethic Minority Future Leaders list. Both lists were published today by the Financial Times.
Rupal Karia, Head of UK & Ireland, Public and Private Sectors, Fujitsu said, “It is an honour to be named in the EMpower Ethnic Minority Executives list. We want to ensure that Fujitsu is a place where every single person can thrive, and in recent years we have focused on ensuring that we are providing the right support and access to senior executives to enable BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) individuals to succeed throughout their careers. This includes initiatives such as promoting role models through our BAME network and encouraging reverse mentoring schemes.
“At the end of the day, it is fundamental that we, as a business, encourage a diverse range of people to succeed at every level within Fujitsu. Not only is this the right thing to do but also this is good business as it embraces ideas from different perspectives. We want to create an environment where diversity and inclusion becomes self-evident in all levels across the organisation, in all business activity, and in the way we collaborate with each other, customers and partners.”
The EMpower Role Model lists are a powerful reflection and celebration of the incredible achievements of the ethnic minority business community in UK, Ireland, Europe, United States and Canada. The lists are published annually, in partnership with the Financial Times, showcasing 100 Ethnic Minority Executives, 15 Advocates and 50 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders. They are designed to showcase visible, inspiring BAME role models at all levels who are demonstrating that background or ethnicity should not and will not be a barrier to professional success.
Suki Sandhu, CEO and Founder, Empower, said, “Our lists exist to drive the empowerment of ethnic minorities within business. Role modelling is fundamental to ensuring equality of opportunity and more inclusive workplace cultures. Those who have achieved personal success have a responsibility to inspire the next generation of ethnic minority leaders, and those featured on our lists are more than living up to it. Through these lists we hope to encourage individuals and businesses to stand up and work together to drive change in our society and workplaces - doing so will inspire the diverse leaders of tomorrow.”
