Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand on Australian Government Data Centre Migration Services Panel

Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, May 05, 2011

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand (FANZ) announced today that it has been accepted onto the newly created Australian Government Data Centre Migration Services Panel (DCMS). The panel is one of a series of Federal Government panels for ICT services across Commonwealth agencies.

Panel members were selected on the basis of a highly competitive tender process in which each organisation had to demonstrate its ability to migrate organisations from older facilities to new, more efficient and sustainable data centre sites. The panel provides agencies with a list of proven suppliers who can assist in a wide range of services supporting data centre migration. These services include requirements definition, procurement, design, data centre project management and logistic planning, and installation of data centre ICT equipment at the new site. The services also include the de-commissioning of vacated facilities, data centre metrics and capacity management on behalf of agencies. State and Territory governments can also use the panel for services.

“The Migration Services Panel represents strategic procurement processes being introduced by the Australian Government for ICT services,” said Phil McCormack, Fujitsu’s Group Executive Director, Australia Government. “The inclusion of Fujitsu on this panel will help us to shape our strategy of being a key supplier to the Australian Government.”

Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said, “Fujitsu has made a long term commitment to pursuing the Australian Government ICT market and our inclusion on this panel demonstrates the value that Fujitsu adds to this market. The Australian Government is a key focus for us and we see Whole-of-Government panels as an opportunity to leverage the significant investments we have made in new technology areas including data centres, cloud services, application development and managed services in the region.”
