Fujitsu, a leading provider of ICT business solutions, has announced today that it has secured CA Technologies Australia and New Zealand as the latest customer of its acclaimed Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) range.
CA Technologies has seen great success in selling its Software as a Service (SaaS) offering for project and portfolio management, CA ClarityTM PPM On Demand, across the US and Europe. CA sought to offer its customer-base greater choice in the housing of their data, not only through its US data centres but also via a local, outsourced infrastructure environment.
Fujitsu's data centre services in Australia will provide IaaS as the underlying platform for the CA Clarity PPM On Demand suite to mirror the systems and service expectations of its environment in the United States. "Having realized successes globally for our CA Clarity PPM On Demand product, we felt it was important to offer our customers the same, local hosting options through a trusted partner. Fujitsu has filled this role and I'm confident that our local customer-base will benefit directly from this move, "said Brenton Smith, Vice President and Area Manager, CA Technologies, Australia & New Zealand.
Under the newly announced contract, CA Technologies will take up Fujitsu's IaaS as an 'out of the box' configuration with inbuilt data and system replication across two of Fujitsu's Tier III data centres. Fujitsu's IaaS provides total scalability and rapid, cost effective responses that fit the changing infrastructure needs of CA Technologies client requirements. Fujitsu had to prove the efficacy of its solution throughout the competitive RFI process.
Rod Vawdrey, Chief Executive Officer, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said: "By investing in industrial scale infrastructure, Fujitsu can provide levels of security and availability which are a bridge too far for all but the very largest enterprises. As with all Fujitsu's data centre customers, CA Technologies now has the confidence of complete security in a strongly managed cloud platform to underpin its SaaS offering in the local marketplace."
The infrastructure platform includes the servers, storage, internet provision, back up and management of the infrastructure, along with data replication and retrieval. High volume bandwidth and two internet providers serve each data centre.
Fujitsu and CA Technologies have a long established relationship which operates at many levels, both locally and globally. Fujitsu is a committed user of the CA Clarity PPM solution which drives its ITIL® (ITIL® is a Registered Trade Mark of AXELOS Limited) processes and underpins all managed service operations, including its burgeoning cloud offerings.
The Fujitsu IaaS offering will fully support CA Technologies business model for its CA Clarity PPM On Demand unit in that it will expand and contract with the client base, and costs will track directly in line with revenue. Importantly, the new IaaS will also support the trialling of software and systems offered by CA Technologies to its prospective clients.
