Fujitsu’s Virtuora Network Controller earns two TIP Bronze Badges for SDN interface compliance
November 11, 2024
Fujitsu was awarded two Requirements Compliant Bronze Badges from the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) for Virtuora® Network Controller (NC). A vendor agnostic and highly scalable SDN solution that supports open standards and multilayer networks, Virtuora NC received the Northbound Interface (NBI) and Southbound Interface (SBI) designations as defined by the MUST (Mandatory Use Case Requirements for SDN for Transport) project group within TIP.
Virtuora is a suite of software to manage, orchestrate, and automate multivendor optical, packet, and wireless networks. Virtuora NC, the network controller for optical and packet networks, integrates seamlessly with third party products and network management systems with the SBI, delivering a single source for dynamic operations, administration, and provisioning for high-bandwidth transport. Additionally, it accelerates innovation and streamlines service management by providing a standardized Northbound Interface for orchestrating complex network services, improving efficiency, and reducing operational costs.
“The bronze badges awarded to Virtuora NC reflect Fujitsu’s ongoing commitment to accelerate and drive the adoption of open, disaggregated and standards-based solutions,” said Francois Lafontaine, Vice President of Software, Photonics Systems Business Unit at Fujitsu. “As a longstanding TIP member, we will continue collaborating to bring the true value of open standards – streamlined integration, reduced deployment times, and increased network agility – to operators around the globe.”
“"We are thrilled to congratulate Fujitsu on earning two Bronze Badges for their Virtuora Network Controller,” said Kristian Toivo, Executive Director, TIP. “TIP’s badging program is essential for fostering open, scalable, and innovative solutions across the telecom ecosystem. TIP’s badging program plays a crucial role in advancing open and disaggregated solutions, ensuring they meet evolving network demands. These badges demonstrate the readiness of solutions to deliver enhanced performance, seamless integration, interoperability, and agility across diverse environments. We encourage industry players to engage with this program as each badge helps propel innovation, setting new benchmarks for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence."
