The fi Series image scanner driver is now available for macOS.
macOS expansion enables customers to operate fi Series scanners on three major desktop operating systems – Windows, macOS, and Linux®.
“In addition to the Windows driver software commonly used in business system environments, we have already provided the driver software for Linux in order to meet the demands of customers with cost constraints and markets in newly-developing countries.”, said Managing Director, Fujio Nishida, PFU Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. “With the macOS driver software this time around, our mainline fi Series will be available on all three major desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, and Linux).”
The macOS driver software supports the Image Capture (macOS bundled application) and Image Capture Application (ICA) interface. The Image Capture with our driver can be used as a common interface for importing data, enabling users to scan through business systems on macOS.
Image Capture’s simple user interface and our integrated driver’s automation function allow users to easily save scanned images in a PDF format. The software provides a variety of functions, such as cropping, blank page detection, and image correction which contributes to reducing the time and effort it takes to perform operations. These functions make document digitization much more efficient without the need to perform troublesome operations, such as dividing documents according to the document type in advance.
With this additional driver software compatibility, users can enjoy the fi Series, our top brand of image scanners, in various environments and situations, regardless of the operating system in use.
Product: Available for fi-7160, fi-7140 and fi-7030.
Operation System: Available for macOS Mojave (10.14).
Applications: Image Capture (application bundled with the operating system) and applications which support Image Capture Application (ICA) interface.
