STYLISTIC Q550: Revolutionizing Tablet PCs for Business Use

Fujitsu designs Tablet PCs with strong business features to meet increasing demand for true mobile enterprise computing

Kuala Lumpur, December 07, 2011

Fujitsu today launches the STYLISTIC Q550 in Malaysia, an executive class tablet that is specially designed to meet the more sophisticated demands of enterprise mobile computing.

According to Lim Teck Sin, Vice President, Product Marketing and Engineering, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific that the Fujitsu STYLISTIC Q550 is the world’s first executive slate PC that focuses on addressing the business and security needs of enterprises.

“In Malaysia, STYLISTIC Q550 will serve as an end-user touchpoint to complement Fujitsu’s suite of enterprise desktop solutions, allowing for Fujitsu channel partners to creatively tailor comprehensive ICT solutions to Malaysian businesses.”

Some highlights of the STYLISTIC Q550 is its enhanced security features via a variety of technologies such as biometric fingerprint ID authentication, smart card reader, embedded security chip and encrypted SSD that enable the development of more robust enterprise-level IT security for the tablet in business work usage.

The STYLISTIC Q550’s incorporation of the USB 2.0, WLAN and Bluetooth 3.0 and HDMI connectivity, Full Disk Encryption SSD Storage together with optional mobile (3G/UTMS) broadband and GPS sets the Fujitsu slate PC apart from other existing tablets in the market.

Enhancing Business Mobility

STYLISTIC Q550 is offered as a mobile business device which is fully equipped with the capabilities to perform outdoor business transaction, work operations and communication without the usual tablet-usage concerns regarding corporate system security issues usually involved at the point of users’ access of corporate data.

“With more than twenty years experience in building mobile computers for enterprise use, we understand that businesses need secure mobile devices that provide advanced integration into existing IT infrastructures,” Lim shares.

He says, “STYLISTIC Q550 also runs on the Microsoft Windows® 7 Operating System that allows seamless integration with most of the businesses’ existing ICT infrastructures. In addition, this allows the capping of licensing and rollout costs since the tablet uses the same software which has already been deployed in the company’s enterprise infrastructures.”

“The STYLISTIC Q550 is a ubiquitous terminal that can be utilized in all business scenarios —accommodating advancements in enterprise system environments, including rapidly accelerating communications environments and cloud computing.”

Feature Highlights

The STYLISTIC Q550 is also distinguished by its full work day battery runtime and a brilliant anti-glare 10.1-inch screen that allows for indoor and outdoor usage.

Along with its excellent ergonomic design, the tablet enables easier mobile data entry by combining a multiple touch interface with precise and pressure-sensitive pen input. The built-in handwriting recognition software features automatic switch between touch input and text. The STYLISTIC Q550 can automatically recognize when users are working with a pen, thus allowing them to rest their hands on the screen when writing.

Its high performance is delivered with just low consumption of power using the Intel Atom processor, to provide business professionals on-the-move with rich PC-like multi-tasking experiences – but on a tablet.

“Many tablets in the market today don’t come anywhere close in addressing the business and security needs. This is the reason that hold enterprises back from fully embracing the latest mobile computing technology for their business usage. So this is the STYLISTIC Q550’s exact sweet spot – being a specially designed tablet that is optimized for the mobile working professionals and executives,” ends Lim.
