Fujitsu Malaysia announces Launch of FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite
Kuala Lumpur, February 28, 2005
Fujitsu Malaysia, a leading regional IT and communications solutions provider, launched the FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution for enterprise customers.
Designed in collaboration with SAP and Network Appliance, the FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution is the industry’s first commercial realization of an IT infrastructure with SAP Adaptive Computing capabilities.
Comprising a set of hardware and software components for configuring easy-to-use and low-cost mySAP servers, the solution replaces the need for multiple dedicated servers with a modular, scalable and reliable IT infrastructure that reduces the total cost of ownership (TCO) by up to 60 per cent.
FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite is based on a clear division of the IT infrastructure for mySAP solutions comprising computing, control, network and storage components. Essential characteristics of the solution include:
- The SuSE Linux central operating system for Fujitsu’s Intel-based Primergy blade servers.
- Virtual SAP services that can be dynamically switched back and forth between servers.
- Shared network attached storage.
- Integrated high availability and management functions.
The FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution dynamically allocates hardware resources to meet on-demand software requirements. Integrated high availability eliminates the need for costly server clusters, while scaling can be performed with little or no downtime. The solution supports gradual and uninterrupted scaling from small systems with about 50 users to large systems supporting several thousand users.
With FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite, TCO savings can be realized in the form of:
- Reduced server administration times.
- Improved built-in security.
- Eliminated downtimes when exchanging (or upgrading) servers and operating systems.
- Optimized use of computing resources.
- On-demand access to on-demand SAP services.
- Increased energy and space savings through the adoption of blade server technologies.
- Reduced costs when expanding server or storage capacities.
“By radically simplifying SAP infrastructures, FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite offers up to 60 per cent reduction in TCO and is the ideal solution for companies that require a modular, scalable and reliable IT infrastructure to meet ever-changing computing needs. We are pleased to offer enterprise customers in the Asia-Pacific region such a solution that improves business efficiency, enhances business agility and ensures business continuity,” said Mr. Anandan Balakrishnan, Fujitsu Malaysia’s Senior Manager, Products & Solutions.
FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite won the SAP Pinnacle Award for Innovative Technology in 2003 and 2004.
