Fujitsu Launches I-Temp 100G QSFP28 Transceiver for 40km transmission
Kawasaki, Japan, September 19, 2019 - Fujitsu Optical Components Limited (FOC) announced today that on October, 2019 it will be releasing the sample of I-Temp 100G QSFP28 Transceivers that are compliant with the 4WDM-40 MSA for 40km transmission and operation in industrial temperatures ranging from -40~85°C. This product can operate in uncontrolled temperature environments, such as outdoor base stations for 5th generation (5G) mobile networks, and enables high bandwidth capacity and long distance transmission for mobile backhaul.

To support a vast variety of devices and services, that would connect new industries with improved performance and data capacity, the introduction of 5G mobile networks has begun. This has increased the need for I-Temp optical transceivers that can operate in uncontrolled temperature environments, such as outdoor base stations. Other potential applications for these transceivers include cable access field aggregation nodes.
FOC will be releasing the sample of I-Temp 100G QSFP28 transceivers that are compliant with the 4WDM-40 MSA for 40km transmission on October, 2019. By adding this transceiver to its product portfolio, and complimenting its existing C-Temp 100G QSFP28 transceiver (0 to 70°C) for 40km, FOC can now offer both transceivers for controlled and uncontrolled temperature environments.
Product Feature
1.I-Temp (-40 to +85°C) operation
Using I-Temp 4-channel APD-ROSA, 4-channel EML-TOSA, and the circuit design/control technology supporting this wider temperature range, this product allows for stable operation for temperatures ranging from -40 to +85°C. In addition, this product provides sufficient operating margin from the below mask of optical waveform, while achieving a maximum power consumption of 4.5 W within this temperature range.

2.40km single-mode fiber transmission
This product supports 40km single-mode fiber transmission by using RS (528,514) FEC on the host card.
FOC plans to display a sample of this product in our booth (#47) at ECOC 2019, which is scheduled to take place from September 23 to 25 in Dublin, Ireland.
