Fixed Malfunctions:

• Previously, ScanSnap Manager cannot be linked with Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 (64-bit) when using [Scan to E-mail] or [Scan to Folder]. This has been corrected.
• Previously, an application error might occur when using text recognition. This has been corrected.
  
  Note: This malfunction does not occur with ScanSnap Manager V4.1 or earlier versions.

Installation Instructions

Note:
If you perform the update online, the following procedure will not be necessary. Follow the instructions on the online update screen.

How to update

1. If you are using ScanSnap Manager which version is earlier than V4.2L14, install ScanSnap Manager V4.2L14 before applying this update.
2. Be sure you log into Windows® as a user with administrator privileges.
3. Download "ss300v42l31wwup.exe" onto your hard drive.
   Make sure you have enough free disk space (at least more than twice the download file size) for installing the programs.
4. Quit any applications that are running on your computer.
5. Power off or disconnect the ScanSnap scanner.
6. Execute the downloaded "ss300v42l31wwup.exe" file to start the update installation.
7. Follow the instructions from the Installation Wizard to complete the installation.
   Select [Open] when the message, ”xxxxx is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?” displays during the installation.

How to check whether the update is successfully applied

1. Right click the "S" mark in the task tray, select [Help] -> [About ScanSnap Manager] to display ScanSnap Manager Version information.
2. In the "About ScanSnap Manager" window, confirm that the version of ScanSnap Manager is "Version 4.2L31".
