[1] Serial ATA
Also known as "SATA," this is a serialized version of the popular ATA interface used to connect storage hardware to computers. There is a 1:1 signal-line connection between the host and each attached drive, transmitting one bit at a time. This permits high speed with good tolerance for noise and interference. The standard also permits future increases in speed and transfer rate.
[2] RoHS compliant
"Restriction on the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electric equipment." An EU directive published February 13, 2003. Member countries must enact legal restrictions regarding the use of hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment, to lessen risks to health and the environment. As a consequence, beginning July 1, 2006, electronics products destined for the EU are subject to regulations on the presence of lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury, cadmium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethyl (PBDE)
