A wavelength band used for optical transmissions defined by ITU-T, the Telecommunication Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunication Union. The C-band refers to wavelengths of 1,530-1,565 nm, while the L-band covers 1,565-1,625 nm and the S-band covers 1,460-1,530 nm.
