Providing a wide product range to meet diverse customer needs

Fujitsu Limited,Fujitsu Client Computing Limited

Tokyo and Kawasaki, Japan, April 21, 2016

Fujitsu Limited and Fujitsu Client Computing Limited today announced the release of 16 new enterprise Windows models in eleven product series, including five desktop PC models in three series, four laptop models in two series, one tablet series, and three workstation models in three series. The new models will be steadily rolled out in Japan from the end of this month.

To meet virtualization needs, Fujitsu has expanded the product range of its FUJITSU Thin Client FUTRO, combining its virtualization solutions to provide a secure working environment in a variety of businesses. Furthermore, compared with previous models, performance has been strengthened in models equipped with the latest CPUs that support Windows 10, among other enhancements.

In order to meet the large demand for models running Windows 7 in the enterprise market, in addition to models running Windows 10, Fujitsu has added models running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to its lineup to support the business of a wide range of customers.

Main Features of the New Products

1. Expanded range of models featuring the latest CPUs

In expanding its product range, Fujitsu has equipped seven models across five series(1) with the latest CPUs and newest OS, enhancing the performance ofthe FUJITSU Notebook LIFEBOOK series of laptops, the FUJITSU Tablet ARROWS Tab series of tablets, and the FUJITSU Workstation CELSIUS series of PC workstations. Moreover, the LIFEBOOK series has been equipped with the latest DDR4 memory to draw out the full performance of the improved CPU.

2. Expanded range of enterprise thin clients in the FUTRO series

Fujitsu is now offering a new desktop thin client, the FUTRO S720/N; a 13.3" laptop thin client, the FUTRO MS936; and a 15.6" A4-sized laptop thin client, the FUTRO MA576. Using these PCs with Fujitsu's virtualization solutions, suited for a variety of purposes and tasks, customers can virtualize the desktop environment, lowering the burden of equipment management and strengthening security by not leaving any data on the PCs.

3. Models that offer long-term support from Microsoft for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1

Microsoft is ending OS support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on models using 6th generation Intel Core processors on July 17, 2018, but there are still many businesses using computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Therefore, by expanding its range of models using 4th and 5th generation CPUs(2), which can receive long-term support(3) going forward, Fujitsu is meeting the needs of its customers. Moreover, for all models, Office 2016 has been added to the build-to-order (BTO) menu.
