ARROWS X F-02E is being positioned as Fujitsu's flagship model for customers who desire high-spec capabilities and for those who wish to enjoy high-speed Internet capabilities and high-resolution video playback, anytime, anywhere.
Background
Recent improvements in smartphone communication speeds have led to a rapid expansion of CPU intensive services, such as high-definition video and communications applications. Enabling users to freely enjoy these kinds of content, however, requires high levels of hardware performance. The trend of continuously increasing functionality has led to an increase in the need for improved usability. To meet these needs, Fujitsu has developed ARROWS X F-02E, a high-spec smartphone that brings together both cutting-edge technology and greater ease of use. The new phone is equipped with a 5.0-inch full HD display, a powerful 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU, and features Fujitsu's Human Centric Engine which enables even greater usability.
Product Features
High-performance 1.7GHz NVIDIA® Tegra 3® Quad-core CPU
ARROWS X F-02E is equipped with the latest version of the high-performance NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. With a 12-core graphics processing unit (GPU) from NVIDIA®, high-resolution games that depend heavily on graphic processing power still run smoothly. The quad-core processor has what is known as a 4-plus-1 architecture: it has a fifth low-power core built in, so that it can run in power-saving mode for less processing-heavy operations, thereby enabling both high-speed processing and lower power consumption.
Large 5.0-inch full HD display and high-performance image processing engine
Despite its 5.0-inch display, ARROWS X F-02E is only 69mm wide, allowing users to enjoy the convenience of both a large screen and easy-to-hold design. The ultra-high resolution (1,920 x 1,080) display supports a full spectrum of 16.77 million colors, thereby enabling photos and video to be displayed in breathtaking detail. With a pixel density of 443ppi, the F-02E displays images at around 1.5 times the detail of 300ppi prints produced at standard photography shops. The phone also features the latest high-performance image processing engine. As a result, users can enjoy all kinds of visual content—including 1seg television broadcasts, videos, and still images from the phone's picture gallery—with natural and realistic colors and textures.
Stunning high-resolution 16.3 megapixel camera
To facilitate even clearer photography, the smartphone comes equipped with five highly permeable lenses. When taking photos, the camera automatically analyzes brightness and color information in the photographer's environment. By sensing the surrounding conditions, the phone can produce photographs in vivid color, even when shooting in a dark room, in addition to capturing vibrant and bright images with the camera's point-and-shoot mode, which eliminates the need for intricate configuration of settings.
Furthermore, the highly responsive camera has a launch time and shutter interval time of about 0.5 seconds(2). As a result, users will never miss out on the perfect snapshot. The smartphone also features a wide range of convenient capabilities for storing and verifying the photographs. These include the ability to take consecutive pictures by holding down the shutter button, as well as the ability to instantly check photos with the swipe of a finger.
Human Centric Engine
The new smartphone comes with an updated version of Fujitsu's Human Centric Engine, which delivers optimal usability through cutting-edge sensing technology. Newly added features include Super HAKKIRI VOICE (Extra-clear voice) 4, which, in addition to adjusting the receiver volume based on noise in the surrounding environment, has been updated to make it even easier to hear the other caller's voice. It also includes Omakase Touch, which analyzes the way the user's finger touches the screen and can automatically correct user input to ensure that the intended button is pressed, even on the large display.
Smart fingerprint sensor
With the built-in smart fingerprint sensor, the phone's security lock can be released by simply placing the finger of a pre-registered user on the sensor. The new sensor contains a switch that can turn the phone's screen on and off, making the process of turning on the screen and releasing the phone's security lock easier than ever. Moreover, the new sensor delivers even greater convenience when employed in combination with the phone's built-in security features, such as privacy mode and a password manager.
Large-capacity 2,420 mAh battery and "NX!eco" app
The handset comes equipped with a 2,420 mAh battery, among the largest of its class of smartphones. Furthermore, by utilizing the included NX!eco application, which can integrate and configure separate power-saving settings, users can improve battery performance, making it possible to fully enjoy video content without having to worry about battery life.
Full-spec capabilities
The Android OS 4.1 smartphone comes loaded with a wide range of capabilities, such as the high-performance ATOK® Japanese-language input system, IPX5/8 water resistance and IP5X dust resistance(3), infrared communications, NFC (equipped with FeliCa), Osaifu-Keitai, 1-seg television broadcast reception, and Bluetooth 4.0.
