Reshaping ICT – Reshaping Business

Fujitsu today announced that Fujitsu Forum 2012, the company's largest annual event, will be held May 17-18 at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan. The theme of this year's Fujitsu Forum will be "Reshaping ICT – Reshaping Business."

Over the past year, the global community has faced a wide range of challenges, including responding to energy challenges and natural disasters, the revitalization of regional communities and the need to enhance the competitive strengths of companies in the global marketplace. To promote sustained future growth for our society and businesses, it is crucial to pursue new initiatives that are unconstrained by past approaches and assumptions.

The Fujitsu Group will pursue the continuous "reshaping" of today's information and communication technologies (ICT) with the goal of helping transform society and our customers' businesses, while also aiming to achieve further growth for the Fujitsu Group and its customers.

Fujitsu Forum 2012 will feature seminars and exhibitions demonstrating Fujitsu's latest cutting-edge products, services and technologies. This includes the company's initiatives to build safe, secure and sustainable cities; its approach to leveraging ICT to give customers a competitive edge, as well as the cloud and big data analysis technologies that make this possible; and the world's fastest supercomputer.

Overview of the Fujitsu Forum 2012

5. Seminars

(1) Keynote panels and presentations (16 in total):

Speakers from around the world, including influential experts, industry representatives, and Fujitsu executives, will give presentations on an array of topics, covering economic trends, national ICT policies, environmental measures, and other factors affecting the business landscape.

(2) Seminars and featured/co-hosted seminars (76 in total):

In addition to themes relating to how ICT is employed in users' daily lives, society and business-and the services, products and technologies that support these applications-presentations will examine the latest trends in the sectors in which Fujitsu's customers do business, as well as a variety of challenges and solutions that address these issues. There will also be case studies of ICT applications taken from the Fujitsu Family Association, the company's user group. A special environmental seminar will discuss ways that ICT has been used to bring about sustainable societies and businesses, and there will also be a hospital management strategy forum.

6. Exhibitions (approx. 110 total)

(1) The growing use of ICT

In recent years, ICT has worked its way into our daily lives, social infrastructure, and business activities in a host of different ways. Featuring recent customer case studies, this exhibit introduces an ever-growing and evolving variety of new ICT applications, with a focus on the areas of daily life & society and business.

  • Daily life & society: energy, food and agriculture, local communities, earthquake disaster recovery
  • Business: manufacturing, business continuity, management framework

(2) Products, services and technologies

By pursuing only the most advanced technologies and highest quality standards, the Fujitsu Group manufactures products that fully meet the needs of customers. These exhibits introduce cutting-edge technologies, products, and services from an array of areas that support our daily lives, society and the expansion of customers' businesses.

  • Exhibits include topics such as big data, cloud services, private cloud technologies and supercomputers

(3) Ubiquitous front-end technologies

The use of smart devices will play a critical role in bringing about a prosperous, comfortable tomorrow. These exhibits showcase ubiquitous products that can effortlessly, safely and securely take advantage of Fujitsu's ICT services.

  • Exhibits include topics such as smart devices and network technologies

(4) Field innovation

This exhibit features case studies from a host of customers who have brought innovation to their business practices by continuously implementing improvements to personnel, processes and ICT.
