Fujitsu Introduces docomo STYLE series™ F-06D

Fujitsu today announced that its new mobile phone, docomo STYLE series F-06D, will be available from NTT DOCOMO, Inc. throughout Japan beginning January 20, 2012.

F-06D features a simple design that users can continue to enjoy for a long time, and is easy to use with easy-to-push dome-shaped buttons and a one-push opening button that can be operated with one hand. With a comprehensive range of diverse functions such as Art Camera mode, which enables users to take artistic videos and photos, and camera functions enabling users to add decorations to photos by using the stylus that is included, F-06D is a water-resistant mobile phone that can be cherished over the long-term.

Background

Amid a rapidly expanding smartphone market in Japan, a number of customers still prefer the comfort of the flip-style mobile phones that they are more accustomed to. To meet these needs, Fujitsu has developed the docomo STYLE series F-06D, which builds on the technologies and know-how cultivated by the company to date and features a simple, refined design and a new CPU that enables quick-response touch screen performance. It also boasts a comprehensive range of functions, beginning with its camera, which enables users to enjoy decorating pictures and taking artistic photographs.

F-06D features a simple design that users can continue to enjoy over the long haul with easy-to-push dome-shaped buttons and a one-push opening button that can be operated with one hand.

The mobile phone is also equipped with a variety of camera functions, such as Art Camera mode for still photos and video, which enables users to easily take artistic photos; an interior camera with flash, which enables users to take bright self-portraits; and a photo decoration feature that allows users to have fun decorating with the stylus that is included.

Moreover, F-06D is built for stress-free, ease of operation with a new smart browser that can quickly display web pages, and is highly-responsive, with quick launches of the camera and e-mail functions. The mobile phone is IPX5/IPX8 water resistant⁽¹⁾ and is equipped with security features such as Privacy Mode, which protects your personal information; a microSD™ password feature; and anticrime alarms linked with the "Imadoko" (translated as "Where Are You") Search user GPS tracking function, all intended to provide users with a peace of mind.

F-06D is available in 2 colors: Rose Gold and Innocent White.

• Art Camera mode (still photos and video⁽²⁾)
  The camera comes with special filter functions that allow users to enjoy 11 different effects, such as chrome key mode and diorama mode. With these features, which work with video in addition to still photographs, users can capture fantastic photographs and videos that they will want to show off to their friends.
• 1.3 megapixel interior camera with flash

4. Reassuring security and basic features

• Anticrime alarms⁽⁵⁾ linked with the "Imadoko" (translated as "Where Are You") Search function⁽⁶⁾
  Anticrime alarms are linked with the "Imadoko" Search function, which sends information on the location of the mobile phone. When the user sounds the alarm, pre-registered individuals are automatically sent an e-mail message or audio alert informing them that the alarm has been sounded and of the location of the mobile phone.
• Privacy Mode®⁽⁷⁾
  This feature enables information about designated individuals or groups to be kept hidden. When an e-mail or a phone message arrives from an individual whose communications have been designated as secret, the user is notified instead through the mobile phone's battery icon. In addition, the user is able to choose whether or not to enable the pattern recognition function of the mobile phone's predictive text input capabilities when the privacy mode feature is turned off.
• microSD password function⁽⁸⁾
  It is possible to create a password for microSD and microSDHC™ cards used with this mobile phone. Other PC's and mobile phones will not be able to read it, thereby protecting your personal information.
• Character Magnification
  When reading e-books, checking e-mail, or when typing, characters can be enlarged for easier reading.
• IPX5/8 water-resistance
  As it is IPX5/8 water-resistant, water splashes or rain will not pose problems.
