Fujitsu to Host Fujitsu Forum 2010

- shaping tomorrow with you -

Fujitsu today announced that it will hold Fujitsu Forum 2010, its largest annual event in Japan, May 13-14 at the Tokyo International Forum. The theme of this year's Fujitsu Forum will be "shaping tomorrow with you."

Fujitsu's latest cloud computing technologies, green ICT solutions, and cutting-edge information terminals will all be on display at the Forum. Exhibitions and seminars will demonstrate how the Fujitsu Group is delivering on its promise to customers—"shaping tomorrow with you"—by working with them to harness the power of ICT and shape the future of society.

Overview of Fujitsu Forum 2010

1. Time & Date: 10 am - 6 pm, May 13 (Thursday) - May 14, 2010 (Friday)

2. Location: Tokyo International Forum, 3-5-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan

3. Theme: "shaping tomorrow with you"

4. Number of Visitors Expected: 10,000 (admission is free)

5. Speeches & Seminars

Speeches (20 in total)
Speakers from around the world, including subject matter experts, industry representatives, and Fujitsu executives, will give presentations on an array of topics, covering economic trends, national ICT policies, environmental measures, and other factors affecting the business landscape. Simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided for a limited number of the Japanese speeches.

Seminars (91 in total)
In addition to themes relating to ICT, society, and business, presentations will look at the latest trends in the sectors that Fujitsu's clients do business in, as well as a variety of issues and solutions to the challenges. There will also be case studies of ICT usage taken from the Fujitsu Family Association, the company's user group. A special environment seminar will discuss ways that IT has been used as part of green business practices, and there will also be a hospital management strategy forum. Seminars will be in Japanese, with simultaneous interpretation into English for a limited number of sessions.

6. Exhibition Pavilions (150 total exhibits)

(1) ICT Pavilion

  • Cloud Computing/IDC
    Exhibits will introduce new cloud computing models Fujitsu's has developed with its customers. The exhibits will introduce cloud virtualization environments and other ICT applications needed to build and operate cloud computing systems. The machine room for the new annex of Fujitsu's Tatebayashi System Center in Japan, which is being used as a cloud services delivery platform, will also be introduced.
  • Supercomputers & PC Clusters
    Exhibits will introduce prototype hardware for Japan's Next-Generation Supercomputer, which Fujitsu is developing in concert with Japan's Riken science institute, along with a PC cluster exhibit and other scientific endeavors that will lead the way to the society of the future.

(2) Society Pavilion

  • Social Infrastructure Systems
    Exhibits will highlight advanced technologies and a variety of ICT applications that aim to enable the creation of a safe, secure, prosperous, and low-carbon society, while exploring topics such as food, health, security, education/communities, and social infrastructure.
  • Environment
    With a focus on Fujitsu's Green Policy Innovation project for the utilization of green ICT, this exhibit will explore the company's advanced technologies and solutions for reducing the environmental footprint of its customers and society, such as its green datacenter technologies and semiconductor devices.

(3) Management Pavilion

  • Management Solutions
    Exhibits will introduce solutions to some of the many challenges facing businesses, such as quickly building systems to comply with new regulations (including international financial reporting standards), ensuring compliance through standardized business processes, and making business data visible to accelerate the decision-making process.
  • Safety & Security
    Exhibits will show executives and managers how to address workplace issues and cut costs through solutions for security, operational continuity, and ICT governance.
  • Global Management
    Exhibits will introduce solutions that support corporate clients doing business around the world, including datacenter operation services, multilingual service desks, and offshore solutions.
  • Field Innovation
    Exhibits will introduce case studies from Fujitsu's program for dispatching its "Field Innovators" to client workplaces. Field Innovators work on site with customers to gain a deeper understanding of the issues the client faces and suggest improvements to system operations.

(4) Ubiquitous Front-end Technology Pavilion
Exhibits will introduce how Fujitsu's personal computers, mobile phones, and other information terminals are linked to sensor technologies, cloud computing systems, and a wide variety of networks to create greater value to people in their business and personal lives.

(5) Industry Pavilion
Exhibits will demonstrate Fujitsu solutions for solving management issues facing customers in the manufacturing, retail, finance, healthcare, and other vertical industries.
