Fujitsu Limited today announced that starting in May, it will begin rolling out its new Trusted-Service Platform, a cloud computing platform that delivers a range of IT services with superior reliability, security, availability, expandability, and energy efficiency.
Fujitsu will also be offering related consulting services to help customers build cloud environments and make their business processes visible, as well as integration services to plan and deploy systems that operate in a cloud environment.
Fujitsu's cloud services are not only geared towards corporate information and communication technology systems, but also for creating new social infrastructure systems that gather and process disparate data, such as from sensors and other technologies, in massive volumes while maintaining high levels of security and reliability. Fujitsu is positioning these services as the foundation to create new types of public and other large-scale IT infrastructure systems.
These services will allow customers to readily access the information and communications assets that they need, when they need them, regardless of the type of network or access terminal they are using or where they are. This new level of flexibility will enable customers to optimize the usage of information and communications technology resources as the economic climate changes, thereby enhancing their businesses.
In recent years, the use of information and communications technologies has spread throughout the fabric of everyday life, from making the business processes inside companies more efficient, to enabling transactions between individuals and businesses through e-commerce and other applications, in addition to linking individuals with one another in the Web 2.0 environment. This has also extended into the social infrastructure in areas such as transportation and healthcare.
As these technologies have become more important inside companies and essential to the development of their businesses, the ability of companies to cope with the sheer number of technologies, their complexity and maintenance burdens, as well as with rapid economic, environmental, and societal changes, has become a pressing issue.
Fujitsu is seeking to address this issue by providing its Trusted-Service Platform for cloud computing, which has the following features.
Fujitsu seeks to create new markets through the technological advances it is bringing to its datacenters in the areas of virtualization, autonomous operation, scalability, automation, security, usability, and environmentalism. It is also advancing its Trusted-Service Platform through establishing closer ties to its global partners.
Trusted-Service Platform is a large-scale virtual platform providing system resources, networks, security, and managed services.
System Platform Services
Resources including servers, storage, operating systems, and middleware are managed as virtualized pooled resources and can be provided to the customer quickly on an as-needed basis. A server farm to be installed at the Fujitsu Tatebayashi System Center located in Gunma Prefecture of central Japan, will provide new on-demand services including special resource services for developers.
In June, a new set of network services, FENICS II Universal Connect, will be provided to safely and securely connect remote users to their internal corporate network through an access line supporting all types of mobile terminals, ensuring system access whenever and wherever the users need them.
Fujitsu's Cloud Security Center is opening in April to assist in data security governance both for Fujitsu and its customers. This will include the protection of information resources in the cloud environment and maintaining the integrity of those resources stored within Fujitsu's datacenters.
Fujitsu provides an integrated management service for all functions offered as cloud-based services. Alongside this, administrators will have a dashboard view as a service showing utilization rates and operating statistics for system resources, networks, and applications, as well as power consumption accounted for by customer use.
