Mizuho Bank Deploys Fujitsu Digital Signage System

- Multi-monitor system to provide branch customers with financial product and market information -

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, April 02, 2009

Fujitsu Limited today announced that, starting this month, Mizuho Bank is rolling out Fujitsu's digital signage system, the "Multi-Monitor Information Distribution System," throughout its bank branch network in Japan to provide customers with up-to-date financial product and market information. In addition to the information provided to customers by bank tellers, Mizuho Bank will be able to provide all visitors to its branches with additional information about its financial products and services with the launch of this new system, thereby expanding its communication with customers.

Based on the philosophy of "putting the customer first," Mizuho Bank aims always to meet customer needs by providing the highest standard of comprehensive financial services. Positioning customer satisfaction as one of its highest management priorities, the bank selected Fujitsu's "Multi-Monitor Information Distribution System" in order to further expand communications with its customers. Supplementing the information provided by branch tellers, the bank will use this system to provide up-to-date information on interest rates and new marketing campaigns for financial products, thereby making effective use of customer waiting times and enabling customers to receive information that is suitable to their needs.

From developing, producing, and managing content to distributing data, the use of Fujitsu's system minimizes the operational workload, another feature valued by Mizuho Bank.

Features of the "Multi-Monitor Information Distribution System"

  • Minimizes the resources needed to manage and operate information distribution due to Fujitsu's outsourcing service, which manages the simultaneous distribution of content to a maximum of 1,400 large screen displays installed throughout the branch network
  • Distributes customized content to branches and even individual branch departments depending on their specific promotional strategies
  • Fujitsu completely manages planning, development, production and management of content so that Mizuho Bank can concentrate on the planning and management of its promotional strategies

This system uses the Plasmawave(1) digital signage system developed by Fujitsu General Limited(2) as its foundation.

Comment from Mizuho Bank

"We installed the "Multi-Monitor Information Distribution System" in order to reinforce our promotional efforts to customers visiting our branches. By using large-screen displays with superior visibility and definition to deliver information on our various financial products and services, we aim to enhance customer awareness and understanding which in turn will result in increased branch visits and transactions."
