Fujitsu to Host Fujitsu Forum 2009

Fujitsu Limited today announced that it will hold Fujitsu Forum 2009, its largest annual event, from May 14 – 15 at the Tokyo International Forum.

The theme of Fujitsu Forum 2009 is "Transformation: New Business Solutions from Fujitsu for Trusted and Valued Partnerships with Customers." In turbulent times for the economy and society, information technology is playing an even more important role in companies and communities. Amid these trends, Fujitsu is developing customer relationships that go beyond information technology, supporting its customers' entire businesses to create new value, while helping customers run their companies in a way that is cost-competitive and environmentally friendly.

Fujitsu Forum 2009 will feature seminars that demonstrate the company's broader focus on business solutions rather than just IT solutions, as well as exhibits highlighting four themes: "Business," "Management," "Information Technology," and "Globalization."

Speeches & Seminars:
  1. Speeches (15 in total)
    Top business leaders, experts in a wide variety of fields, and Fujitsu executives will give presentations on an array of topics, including how companies should manage themselves in the face of a turbulent economy, national IT policies, and environmental concerns.
  2. Seminars (90 in total)
    The seminars will introduce solutions for workplace modernization, risk management, environmental management and other management issues, and how IT infrastructure can complement these. There will also be case studies of IT usage taken from the Fujitsu Family Association, the company's user group. A Special Environment Seminar will discuss ways that IT has been used as part of green business practices, and there will also be a Fujitsu Hospital Management Strategy Forum.

  1. Business Zone
    Exhibits in the Business Zone will showcase new solutions, such as regional healthcare networks, agricultural knowledge management, and logistics visibility, that are bringing about workplace transformations as they appear in a variety of sectors and types of businesses.
  2. Management Zone

    • Risk Management:
      Exhibits will introduce solutions that promote both risk management to enhance safety and workplace improvement that sustain and increase profitability, as well as solutions for improved security and business continuity.
    • Next-Generation ERP:
      Exhibits will introduce business-management systems based on methods and technologies developed for use in-house at Fujitsu as well as an XML-based systems to execute management strategies quickly.
    • Environment:
      Exhibits will introduce actual case studies of helping customers with environmental management, energy-saving IT infrastructure, green datacenters, and ways IT can be used to reduce resource consumption and achieve environmental management, all as part of Fujitsu's Green Policy Innovation, the Group's initiative to promote the reduce customer's environmental impact.
  3. IT Zone
    Exhibits in the IT Zone will showcase high-performance, high-reliability green platform products, including the latest blade servers, green IT, and SaaS offerings, as well as popular IT management services.
  4. Global Workshop
    The workshops will highlight Fujitsu's companies outside Japan and local staff that can support global businesses in their worldwide operations.
