An international standard for environmental management put forth by ISO. Certification is granted to organizations that establish systems to continuously reduce the environmental impact of their operations.

Based on the Fujitsu Group Environment Policy, this action plan was written to guide the group during the 2004–2006 period. It calls for all products to be made in a more environmentally-friendly manner, for material and other procurement to take environmental factors into account, to recycle waste products, and to reduce waste and energy consumption.
[3] Japan Audit and Certification Organization for Environmental Quality (JACO)
JACO was established in 1996 as the leading organization for audit and certification for ISO14001 Environmental Management System. It was founded by 10 major companies among Japanese electric/electronic industry. It already certified and has registrations of almost 4,000 systems including ISO9001 Quality Management System which was added in their scope just after its start of operation. In addition, JACO has been widening its service as to Information Safety Management System, Clean Development Mechanism and Food Safety Management System (ISO22000) and supporting various needs in the market.
