Fujitsu Releases the MB90330 Series of 16-bit USB Microcontrollers

Enables Direct Communication Between Audio-Visual Equipment and Peripherals, without a Host PC

Fujitsu Limited

Tokyo, March 18, 2003

Fujitsu Limited today announced the release of four new products in its MB90330 Series of 16-bit microcontrollers, which include a set of USB (*1) macros, including simple host features. The Series was developed together with Fujitsu Devices Inc., and enables direct Universal Serial Bus (USB) communication?without a host PC?between audio-visual equipment and other peripherals.

Series Features:

  • Built-in USB macros (full-speed USB *1) with simple host features.
These chips include USB macros with features for a simple USB host. Including one of these in a digital camera, for example, would allow the camera to be connected directly to a printer by a USB cable, without a personal computer.
  • High-capacity memory onboard
With a maximum 24 KByte RAM, and, depending on application, a choice of up to 384 KBytes of flash RAM or up to 256 KBytes ROM, these microcontrollers can store considerable amounts of data and run large programs.
