Munich/Warsaw, April 05, 2018 - Fujitsu is gearing up to start its 2018 World Tour, bringing the latest technology demonstrations and most innovative customer stories to businesses in over 20 countries across five continents. Under the theme of “Co-creation for success” the largest customer roadshow of its kind demonstrates how Fujitsu is bringing customers’ digital business ideas to life, by connecting the right partnerships and expertise to deliver transformational outcomes. The 2018 Fujitsu World Tour kicks off in Warsaw, Poland, on April 10.
While there are huge opportunities for companies of all sizes and from all sectors to create value, many are still struggling to unlock the potential of digital transformation. With customers facing constantly changing challenges and evolving technologies, Fujitsu believes the key to success is to identify and leverage a combination of the right technologies and partnerships. Fujitsu World Tour 2018 showcases results of customers’ co-creation projects, and highlights the Fujitsu products and services that make digital transformation possible – from connected technologies such as Cloud, AI, IoT to Cyber Security.
Dr. Joseph Reger, Fujitsu Fellow and Chief Technology Officer, EMEIA, says: “Businesses today are experiencing real challenges in delivering digital transformation, with many business leaders concerned about their ability to adapt. We believe that the key to unlocking the full potential of digital technologies lies in digital co-creation. By that we mean working collaboratively with partners and customers to deliver innovation alongside tangible value and growth. This year’s Fujitsu World Tour aims to both inspire businesses and show them how to effectively navigate the disruption. They will not only see first-hand the technologies that are creating new opportunities to engage with and delight customers, but they will also gain an understanding of the success factors needed to ensure the best possible results.”
Fujitsu World Tour packs a wealth of information into each one-day stop – including keynote speeches, breakout sessions and interactive demonstrations. In total, customers can network with more than 10,000 business and technology experts, discuss hot technology topics and experience first-hand how Fujitsu is helping organizations connect the digital dots.
Fujitsu’s comprehensive technology portfolio is in evidence throughout, from briefings explaining artificial intelligence to an overview of the Digital Annealer – an innovative combination of quantum and classical computing. An additional highlight is the opportunity to look inside a Security Operations Center, providing an insight into how Fujitsu Security analysts can identify vulnerabilities within organizations and provide advice and guidance on how businesses can defend against cyberattacks. Artificial intelligence can be seen in action with a robot bartender able to select and prepare the most appropriate cocktail for customers, using facial recognition capabilities.
European stops on the tour will focus on key local vertical sectors and how they can leverage transformative technologies. The exhibition element will feature:
  • Manufacturing solutions including intelligent IoT dashboards, in addition to real implementations of artificial intelligence to enhance quality control processes.
  • Retail demonstrations featuring the 360-degree approach to customer profiles, supporting engagement across all meaningful channels.
  • Transport industry demonstrations showcasing solutions for ticketing, city-wide surveillance and harbor collision avoidance.
  • In the finance sector, exhibits focusing on Fujitsu’s blockchain solution and advanced biometric PalmSecure capabilities for cashpoints.
The first stop of the tour, in Warsaw, will also feature appearances from invited start-ups, with the best presentation receiving an award.
Additionally, the stop in Stockholm, Sweden on May 29 includes the Fujitsu Innovation Gathering – the major annual showcase for Fujitsu Laboratories of Europe. This event will feature a keynote from Shigeru Sasaki, the Head of Fujitsu Laboratories, who will talk about how Fujitsu is using advanced technologies to solve today’s social challenges. It will also include an exhibition of Fujitsu Laboratories’ latest R&D developments, some on show for the first time in Europe. A dedicated breakout session track will focus on the advanced technologies that are transforming society, from the quantum-inspired Digital Annealer to business implementations of artificial intelligence. The event will also incorporate the presentation of a Fujitsu Innovation Award to the university students who have demonstrated the most exciting new ideas for digitalization.
