History

Transition of the business

November, 1940 Founded at Tsubame-machi, Nishikanbara-gun (current Tsubame-shi), Niigata prefecture, under the name of "Kanaiwa Kousakusho Co., Ltd." (which previously was a company privately managed by Kiichi Hasegawa which produced western style tableware).
November, 1944 Fuji Tsushinki Manufacturing Corporation (current Fujitsu Ltd.) undertook all shares and changed the company name to "Kambara Kikai Kogyo Ltd.".
January, 1946 Began delivering parts for telephones and switching equipment.
November, 1950 Established the "Suzaka factory" at Suzaka-machi, Nagano prefecture.
November, 1956 Began complete production of display units, from design to production and testing.
April, 1960 Established the "Oyama factory" at Oyama-shi, Tochigi prefecture.
October, 1962 Established the "Yoshida factory" (current "Niigata factory") at Yoshida-machi, Nishikanbara-gun (current Yoshida Higashi Sakae-cho, Tsubame-shi), Niigata prefecture.
September, 1963 Established the "Yanokuchi factory" (current "Tokyo factory") at Inagi-machi, Minamitama-gun (current Inagi-shi), Tokyo Metropolis.
November, 1965 Moved the headquarters to Yoshida-machi, Nishikanbara-gun (current Yoshida Higashi Sakae-cho, Tsubame-shi), Niigata prefecture.
October, 1966 Moved the headquarters to Inagi-machi, Minamitama-gun (current Inagi-shi), Tokyo Metropolis.
June, 1970 Changed the company name to "Kambara Kikai Denshi Ltd."
November, 1971 Began independent sales of press dies and molds.
June, 1972 Changed the company name to "Fujitsu Kiden Ltd.".
July, 1972 Began independent sales of display systems.
March, 1973 Established Osaka sales office (current Kansai branch office) and Nagoya sales office (current Chubu branch).
April, 1973 Transferred the business rights of the components business division to Shinano Denshi Ltd. (current Fujitsu INTERCONNECT TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED) and sold the Suzaka factory.
April, 1973 Transferred the business rights of the telecommunications business division to Hasegawa Electric Co., Ltd. (current Fujitsu I-NETWORK SYSTEMS LIMITED) and sold the Oyama factory.
November, 1973 Established Sendai sales office (current Tohoku branch) and Fukuoka sales office (current Kyushu branch).
August, 1974 Began development, production and sales of financial terminal systems.
April, 1975 Established Sapporo sales office.
September, 1980 Began development, production and sales of retail terminal systems.
April, 1982 Began development, production and sales of OA terminal systems.
February, 1988 Qualified for listing in the 2nd section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
January, 1995 Established Omiya sales office.
June, 1996 Founded a subsidiary company of "Fujitsu Die-Tech Corporation of the Philippines".
March, 1996 All business units qualified for ISO9002.
December, 1996 Founded a subsidiary company of "Fujitsu Kiden Life Create Ltd." (current Life Create Ltd.).
April, 1998 Niigata factory qualified for ISO14001.
July, 1998 Founded a subsidiary company of “FK-Mechatech Co., Ltd.".
October, 1998 Tokyo factory qualified for ISO14001.
April, 2000 Founded a subsidiary company of “Fujitsu Kiden Customer Service Ltd.”.
May, 2000 All business units qualified for ISO9001.
November, 2001 Transferred the production of electronic equipment from Fujitsu Kumagaya factory.
December, 2001 Moved the display system production from the Tokyo factory to the Niigata factory.
March, 2002 Integrated the Consumer Product Development Group of Consumer Transactions Business Unit of Fujitsu Limited.
April, 2002 Established a subsidiary company of Product Services Enterprise Ltd.
July, 2002 Changed the company name to Fujitsu Frontech Ltd.
July, 2002 Changed the stock trading unit from 1,000 to 100.
October, 2003 Founded a subsidiary company of Fujitsu Frontech (Shanghai) Ltd.
February, 2005 Received a transfer of all stocks of Fujitsu Terminal Systems Ltd. (current Fujitsu Frontech Systems Ltd) and instituted it as a subsidiary company.
February, 2005 Integrated software and service business for specialized terminals such as ATM and POS, and help desk business for retail industry from Fujitsu Ltd.
April, 2005 Established the Omiya Solution Center (Saitama-shi, Saitama prefecture).
May, 2006 Established the Osaka Solution Center (Chuo-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka prefecture).
July, 2007 FUJITSU FRONTECH CUSTOMER SERVICE LIMITED and PRODUCT SERVICE ENTERPRISE LIMITED merge FUJITSU FRONTECH CUSTOMER SERVICE LIMITED as a surviving company.
April, 2009 FUJITSU FRONTECH LIMITED establishes Fujitsu Frontech North America, Inc. as a base of development, procurement and manufacturing in U.S.A. (FUJITSU FRONTECH LIMITED purchases 100% shares of FUJITSU TRANSACTION SOLUTIONS INC. and changes its trade name to Fujitsu Frontech North America, Inc.)
July, 2009 FUJITSU FRONTECH LIMITED purchases 100% of TOTALIZATOR ENGINEERING LIMITED shares from FUJITSU FSAS LIMITED.
October, 2009 TOTALIZATOR ENGINEERING LIMITED and FUJITSU FRONTECH CUSTOMER SERVICE LIMITED merge TOTALIZATOR ENGINEERING LIMITED as a surviving company.
February, 2011 TOKAI ENGINEER LTD. becomes a subsidiary of TOTALIZATOR ENGINEERING LIMITED (by purchasing additional shares).
July, 2011 Chungho ComNet Co., Ltd. acquired all shares of FKM Co., Ltd. aiming to expand sales of ATMs in South Korea and other global markets.
November, 2017 Fujitsu Frontech North America, Inc. and Positek RFID L.P. have jointly established the Positek RFID, Inc.
April, 2018 FUJITSU FRONTECH LIMITED and Chungho ComNet Co., Ltd. have jointly established FUJITSU FRONTECH CHUNGHO GLOBAL PRODUCTS Co. Ltd. in South Korea.
