Fujitsu Partners with ObserveIT to Bring Seamless Security and Monitoring Applications to Enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau

Achieving complete compliance with current security standards and reducing storage cost for recordings of user activity

Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited

Hong Kong, January 16, 2012

Fujitsu today announces its partnership with ObserveIT to introduce a new suite of security and monitoring software applications and services for enterprises in Hong Kong and Macau. ObserveIT, which is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and specializes in overcoming the complex compliance and security challenges related to user activity auditing, provides solutions to fill in the security gap in enterprise IT systems. With Fujitsu's extensive local market knowledge and ObserveIT's market-leading User Activity Monitoring technologies, enterprises can enrich their availability in database and system logs activity monitoring, which previously has been one of the missing pieces in complete compliance and security, especially for private cloud environment and the FSI (financial services institutions), utility and transportation industry verticals.

"For our customers' security needs in Hong Kong and Macau, we are constantly expanding our servers computing solutions. We are pleased to collaborate with ObserveIT to help enterprise easily capture video recordings of user activity, and generate audit logs for all applications, users, protocols, environments and sessions. We bring ObserveIT’s patent-pending video generation solutions to enable enterprise to analyze user activities videos while minimizing the amount of storage needed and reducing the storage cost. This is an ideal security technology for diverse industries in Hong Kong and Macau with the need for legal system logins," said Rikiya Kano, General Manager, Marketing, Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited.

"Our partnership with Fujitsu in Hong Kong and Macau is of the highest level of cooperation, allowing us to integrate our security and monitoring software applications with Fujitsu servers computing solutions to address compliance and security blind spots. We designed the ObserveIT platform from the ground-up to meet the most demanding enterprise requirements, which allows ObserveIT to audit all protocols, without requiring architecture changes on your network. Through the solution, we provide a precise forensic investigation that shows exactly what the user did, whenever the need for it arises," said Avi Amos, CEO of ObserveIT.

As ObserveIT's distributor in Hong Kong and Macau, Fujitsu provides various support and services offering for solutions integration, and offers as a value-added security solution for its partners and customers. ObserveIT is able to enhance SIEM (security information and event management) and log management in order to make enterprise compliance audits more reliable. Its SLA monitoring can be easily adapted to most third party solutions, which makes deployment of ObserveIT seamless and highly integrated.

In today's resource-heavy enterprise systems, the demand of accessing secured data from anywhere is rising, but this brings a corresponding increase in the need to manage the risk and for the right system monitoring tools. Traditional security covers ID management, access control and SIEM and log management, but this approach introduces several blind spots from the lack of database, system, network, and user activity logs. Enterprise has to be able to generate user activity logs for every application, to avoid further compliance and security challenges. ObserveIT acts like a security camera on the servers, generating audit logs and video recording of every action performed by users and capturing all activity, even for applications that do not produce their own internal logs.

ObserveIT offers benefits by providing court-admissible legal evidence, which reduces the risk of misaligning client-vendor interests by capturing all vendor activity. Video replays can be used during litigation or to eliminate the need for legal action in the first place. The video recording technology is a breakthrough as it reduces the need for verbal descriptions, hand-holding, and email explanations: 30 seconds of video is able to provide more actionable information than hours of training, phone calls and emails. ObserveIT can also drastically reduce costs in PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard regulation) compliant platforms while creating accountability of all activities linked to an identifiable individual user.

The ObserveIT Xpress and ObserveIT Enterprise solution is available locally today. The free ObserveIT Xpress is dedicated for small office ad hoc server auditing, with a maximum number of 5 monitored Windows servers. ObserveIT Enterprise is designed for SME and Enterprise system auditing, including privileged user identification, historical playback, compliance reporting, policy messaging and full configuration, while supporting an unlimited number of Unix/Linux/Windows servers being monitored. Leading corporations and institutions around the world are using ObserveIT to secure and monitor their IT server environments. These customers include BNP Paribas, China Construction Bank, Xerox, Coca Cola, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Taiwan Mobile and UPS.
