TeamPad 500

Fujitsu Hong Kong Limited announced the new TeamPad 500 which is one of the first Microsoft Windows CD-based handheld devices designed for wireless networking with one of the fastest processors on the market running Windows CE. This ultra-light mobile computer features a large color touch screen, multiple LAN and WAN options, and long battery life.

TeamPad 500 suits warehouse users since its durable, ruggedized and weather resistance design can withstand drops to concrete surfaces to keep your systems work fine in all kinds of weather extremes. To retailers, the integrated printer prints out receipts, magnetic card reader helps to process credit card payment and also the scanning option can work as barcode scanner, all these make the TeamPad 500 an ideal wireless point-of-sale unit. Besides, TeamPad 500 smoothes delivering processes. Since receipts can be printed out when courier delivers customer's order to the door, thus transactions can be completed anytime anywhere.

More important, via wireless WAN, TeamPad 500 can be connected to company's computer systems. Thus data are always accessible to workers and also customers's information can be updated from time to time. By integrating TeamPad 500 with the global positioning systems (GPS) applications, company's information systems can automatically send real-time information to delivery personnel. Simply by inputting the driver's longitude and latitude, the unit will determine which customer is to be served. With the delivering information, company's information systems can schedule which and where products to be delivered, what products to be advertised and which end-caps to be displayed.

In America, for example, a home-deliver company has used the TeamPad 500 to manage 13,000 different routes. In Japan, a company is using the TeamPad 500 with WAN connectivity for on-the-spot credit and debit card approval. These show that the TeamPad 500 helps route management and turn products into profits.

TeamPad 500 weighs only 430g. The large touch screen, the extended battery life, LED backlight as well as the scanner option make it an ideal to mobile workers. Including the full range of communications devices and road-ready printers designed TeamPad 500 meets all mobile needs.
