In January, Fujitsu launched its LIFEBOOK U745 and LIFEBOOK S935, marking a new milestone in the adoption of advanced biometrics technology powered by Fujitsu PalmSecure. Users are empowered to authenticate easily by waving their hands over the sensor, a hygienically superior method with its non-contact nature. Fujitsu’s PalmSecure technology also bolsters security from authentication software that reads palm-vein patterns, achieving a false rejection rate of 0.01% and a false acceptance rate of less than 0.00008%.

In addition to Fujitsu PalmSecure, LIFEBOOK U745 and LIFEBOOK S935 are well-supported with high-end specifications.

Enterprises and workplaces have started to make use of wearable devices in recent years, notably with head-mounted displays (HMDs). However, HMDs do not make it easy to input figures, write notes or perform other necessary actions required in the workplace.

In light of the evolving workplace requirements, Fujitsu has announced the development of a compact and lightweight wearable ring-type device that offers handwriting-input functionality and a reader for near-field communications (NFC) tags.

The ring-type wearable device can identify fingertip movements that users make as they write in the air, translating movements into notes as the wearable recognizes both numbers and words. Simply with one tap on the object with NFC tag, the operator will be provided with relevant information via the NFC tag reader. This technology allows operators to manipulate data with minimal interference and movement, even while holding other tools.
