Fujitsu America, Inc. today announces that Big Y Foods, Inc. will be deploying the Fujitsu Fresco Grocery with Fuel Point of Sale (POS) solution to all Big Y locations.

Big Y, a prominent, privately owned retailer operating more than 78 full-line grocery, convenience and fuel stores in New England, will utilize Fujitsu’s complete grocery offering, which includes Fujitsu Fresco POS, mobile shopping, U-Scan™ self-checkout, Taskforce™ wearable communications and Fujitsu’s back-office solution suite, providing Big Y with new tools to serve their customers with a broad new range of ways to shop.

Behind the scenes, Fujitsu’s back-office solution suite, including CustomerCENTER™ Loyalty software and StoreCENTER™ software with integrated price/promotion management, which will streamline Big Y back-office maintenance functionality.

With the Fujitsu Fresco solution, Big Y will employ a single application suite to improve operations and customer touchpoints store-wide with front-end checkout, service desk/returns, in-store deli, café service, self-checkout, cash automation, self-service kiosks, fuel, and pharmacy integration including NPLEx1.

Key Fujitsu Fresco solution differentiators are, ability for retailers to choose their own payment provider, Taskforce wearable communications and fully integrated fuel sales. Fujitsu’s patent pending Taskforce application enables two-way silent communication between both POS and self-service applications to store staff wearing smart watch technology across the store.

The Fujitsu Fresco solution’s fully integrated fuel application provides a single user interface so the staff never loses visibility of sales in the store or at the fuel pumps. Other innovative solutions such as Integro system monitoring and management, Automated Software Maintenance and Enterprise Configuration Management, making the Fujitsu Fresco solution one of the most complete Grocery POS application suites available today.
