Fujitsu Laboratories of America to Host Technology Symposium on “Blockchain Unleashed: A Disruption as Big as the Internet?”

Event to focus on impact of Blockchain technologies on business and consumer transaction landscape

Fujitsu Laboratories of America Inc.

Santa Clara, CA, October 11, 2016 Fujitsu Laboratories of America today announced that it will host its 10th annual Fujitsu Laboratories of America Technology Symposium (FLATS) in Santa Clara, California. The symposium is an annual invitation-only event where Fujitsu Laboratories of America brings together the best minds from industry, academia, and government to discuss future developments in technology and their impact. The theme this year is “Blockchain Unleashed: A Disruption as Big as the Internet?” with keynote speeches, presentations and panel sessions to discuss Blockchain technologies and their future impact on people, businesses and societies across the world.
We are in the initial stages of what some are calling a revolution as significant as the advent of the Internet. Blockchain technology, a distributed ledger, which provides trust between parties who can stay anonymous, has the potential to significantly disrupt how consumers and enterprises buy, sell and exchange goods and services. Eliminating the need for trusted third parties could transform flow of knowledge and commerce while resulting in significant reductions in cost and complexity.
“By providing a mechanism for global trust and transaction integrity, Blockchain has the potential to fundamentally alter value creation and monetization”, said Masayuki Kato, CEO of Fujitsu Laboratories of America. “We are pleased to host this symposium to discuss how this exciting new technology can spearhead the next phase of the digital revolution.”
Speakers at the technology symposium include leaders from the industry and academia including Fujitsu, Stanford University, Visa Inc., Augur, BlockApps, Blockchain Health, Blockchain University, BlockCypher, Factom, Filament, Forbes, Gem, Hyperledger Project, Institute for the Future, Pantera Capital, R3 and Skuchain.
