Richardson, TX, August 12, 2014

Fujitsu, a leading provider of business, information technology, and communications solutions, today announced that Ralph Santitoro, Director of Solutions Planning – Emerging Markets, Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc., was reelected to the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Board of Directors for the seventh consecutive term. For more than a decade, Santitoro has demonstrated his commitment to the MEF membership and the industry to drive worldwide adoption of Carrier Ethernet networks and services. According to the research firm Vertical Systems Group, Carrier Ethernet bandwidth has surpassed all legacy network bandwidth while continuing to rapidly grow.

Santitoro has contributed to many of the MEF’s Technical, Marketing, Service Operations and Certification Committees and authored the organization’s most popular white papers. He created the MEF Carrier Ethernet Professional Certification Program (MEF-CECP) and developed the MEF-CECP exams. To prepare industry professionals for the MEF certification process, Santitoro co-authored Fujitsu’s MEF-CECP 2.0 Exam Study Guide for Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Professionals and Fujitsu’s MEF-CECP 2.0 training course. These, in conjunction with Fujitsu’s MEF-CECP 2.0 Exam Trainer smartphone app, have enabled many students to receive their MEF-CECP 2.0 certifications. Since the program’s introduction, the number of certifications has grown more than 100 percent annually; today more than 2,300 professionals have attained MEF-CECP status.

“Ralph has been instrumental in the growth and direction of the MEF,” said Nan Chen, MEF President. “Communications networking is experiencing great change by becoming more virtualized and programmable and the industry is looking to the MEF for leadership. Ralph’s vision and contributions are advancing this evolution of Carrier Ethernet services to become more on-demand and agile when deployed using traditional, SDN and NFV implementations.”
