Fujitsu Signs Synnex to Increase Distribution and Integration of Leading Storage Solutions

Fujitsu Computer Products of America

Sunnyvale, CA, June 13, 2007

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced a distribution relationship with SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE: SNX), a global IT supply chain services company, to begin shipping Fujitsu enterprise and mobile hard disk drives (HDDs) to resellers in the United States. In addition to HDDs Synnex will also offer other leading edge products including XG Series 10Gb Ethernet switches to its customers.

“The hard disk drive industry is going through yet another transition to new technologies and products. Storage vendors are continuously raising the competitive bar to offer higher storage capacity points with aggressive performance speeds,” said Lorne Wilson, senior vice president, channel sales and marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. “Fujitsu is excited to work with SYNNEX Corporation, who shares our commitment to the innovations in new enterprise and mobile storage applications. Through a focus on SYNNEX’s integration facility, Fujitsu and SYNNEX will meet the growing needs of channel customers in North America with leading technology and a solid support system.”

Fujitsu enterprise and mobile HDDs offer original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), solution providers, value added resellers (VARs) and system builders with a broad range of performance, capacity and interfaces to serve the commercial and industrial storage markets. As the first to bring small form factor Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) HDDs to the enterprise market, Fujitsu’s comprehensive enterprise product line features a breadth of both 3.5” and 2.5” form factors, and continues to be a strong advocate of key interfaces such as SAS and Fibre Channel.

The company has also maintained an aggressive approach when it comes to investing in R&D, and the efforts have paid off with the market adoption of Serial technology, as well as the introduction of the industry’s first 300GB¹ 2.5” mobile HDD to feature perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology. Valuing the reputation for high quality that Fujitsu HDDs have earned to date from many customers, the company has successfully developed PMR products that maintain the same high quality standards, and going forward it plans to steadily expand and enhance its lineup of high-quality, large-capacity PMR HDDs.

“With our strong footprint in the storage space, the addition of Fujitsu products provides our distribution and integration services customers with a wealth of options and opportunities to choose from,” said Steve Ichinaga, general manager and senior vice president, Systems Integration Division at SYNNEX Corporation. “Partnering with Fujitsu was particularly appealing to SYNNEX and complements our strong product suite and services offerings in the United States.”

¹One gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes; accessible capacity will be less and actual capacity depends on the operating environment and formatting.
