Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced that Lorne Wilson has been elected to the independent Connecticut Audubon Society board of directors. Founded in 1898 in the city of Fairfield, the non-profit statewide organization promotes conservation of Connecticut’s environment through science-based education and advocacy focused on the state’s bird populations and habitats.

"Our organization has a dynamic board of directors and we look to them to provide guidance and leadership on mission delivery," said Bob Martinez, president of Connecticut Audubon Society. "Lorne is passionate about conservation issues and he has a wide-ranging and unique set of professional skills. We are thrilled to have Lorne join the Connecticut Audubon Society team, and we’re already working closely with him as part of our ongoing initiative to move more of our resources -- staff, funding and technology -- from the ‘back office’ to the front lines of environmental conservation."

Lorne Wilson currently has over 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, and management. Throughout his career, he has consistently been recognized for his leadership as well as his advocacy of cutting edge technology. With his business acumen and technological savvy, Lorne will help the Connecticut Audubon Society build an efficient infrastructure to better serve the environment and thousands of Connecticut Audubon Society members and supporters.

Lorne has begun a three-year board position where he’ll meet six times a year in Connecticut. His position will be made available for continual renewal following his three-year period of board service.

"I’m very fortunate to be involved with the efforts of the Connecticut Audubon Society, and look forward to helping position our team at the forefront of environmental conservation," said Lorne Wilson, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Fujitsu Computer Products of America. "I think it speaks well of the Society to build a team with diverse experience where individual ideas come together to benefit everyone who enjoys what the Connecticut environment has to offer."

Connecticut Audubon Society operates the historic Birdcraft Museum as well as other nature facilities in Fairfield, Milford, Glastonbury and Pomfret, an EcoTravel office in Essex and an Environmental Advocacy office in Hartford. The organization also manages 19 wildlife sanctuaries around the state, preserves over 2,600 acres of wildlife habitat, and serves over 200,000 people annually, including 60,000 children reached through school programs, summer camps, scout groups and special events. Working exclusively in Connecticut for over 100 years, Connecticut Audubon Society is an independent organization, not affiliated with any national or government group. For more information, visit
