Fujitsu to Discuss Future of Hybrid Hard Disk Drive Technology at DISKCON USA 2006

Product Demonstrations Showcase the Performance, Power and Cost Advantages of Serial Hard Disk Drives

Fujitsu Computer Products of America

Sunnyvale, CA, September 06, 2006

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world’s leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced that Joel Hagberg, vice president, marketing and business development, will join other key hard disk drive (HDD) executives in the "The Hybrid Landscape: Opportunity and Challenge" panel at DISKCON USA 2006, Sept. 13-14, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Santa Clara, Calif. During the panel, the speakers will discuss the hybrid marketplace and its impact on the HDD and Flash industries.

At DISKCON, Fujitsu will display a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) server using a 3.5" and 2.5" 1U SAS enclosure to highlight the various Serial products that are currently available in the marketplace. In addition, the display will show how the adaptability of the Serial interface exponentially increases the options available to system integrators and solution providers by enabling interchangeable storage systems that improve performance, scalability, capacity, power, acoustics and cost. Fujitsu will also showcase an 8TB Serial ATA (SATA) HDD-based system illustrating the lower power and increased storage density available to today’s market. Lastly, Fujitsu will exhibit a system featuring Rancho enclosures, which will include industry leading Fujitsu small form factor SAS and SATA hard disk drives. This demo will focus on performance, density and interoperability.

DISKCON USA 2006, presented by IDEMA, offers the best opportunity to learn about new products and technologies, as well as interact with leading industry executives and technologists. This year’s conference will focus on the wealth of technology generated to achieve today’s hard disk drive products, and the business environment which promotes, funds and applies these achievements.
