Fujitsu today announces at IFA Berlin two additions to the LIFEBOOK U Series line-up – including a flagship new touchscreen Ultrabook based on latest 4th Gen Intel® CoreTM processor technology.

With these new models, Fujitsu is offering a wider-than-ever choice of slim, easily portable notebooks, giving small and medium-sized businesses the tools they need for secure mobile working.

The LIFEBOOK U574 is Fujitsu’s first touchscreen Ultrabook and features a 13.3-inch anti-glare screen, yet weighs only 1.6 kg and is 19 mm thin. Standard features include embedded 3G/UMTS for anywhere connectivity, PXE boot capability for remote boot and optional TPM and Advanced Theft Protection for enhanced security.

The LIFEBOOK U554 weighs only 1.5 kg at 18mm thinness and has a 13.3-inch anti-glare display with embedded 3G/UMTS, PXE boot capability and optional TPM plus Advanced Theft Protection.

Both new models in the LIFEBOOK U Series come with standard features such as all-day battery runtime and anytime connectivity, and Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) for remote management.

Enterprise-grade security features such as Fujitsu Advanced Theft Protection (ATP) allows lost or stolen devices to be disabled remotely and to erase data. An optional Trusted Platform Module (TPM) encrypts and secures data against theft.

The LIFEBOOK U554 is available immediately and LIFEBOOK U574 is available from the end of October.
