Fujitsu launches Business Analytics for Retail service

February 10, 2009

Fujitsu Services, one of Europe’s leading IT services companies, is launching a new cost-effective business analytics service aimed at helping retailers turn valuable business data into actionable reporting and analysis.

In the current tough economic climate, retailers need to exploit the data they possess internally to help maximise sales across multiple channels. Business reporting and analytics hold the key to identifying and understanding customer behaviour; this intelligence is vital for converting more customers and improving their experience with a retailer’s brand. The challenge for retailers today is to deliver reporting and analysis which is on time, actionable and cost-effective.

‘Business Analytics for Retail’ is a low cost one-stop shop solution designed specifically for the retail sector. As a service-led model, it will enable retailers to exploit data garnered from across the business to provide timely intelligence to facilitate knowledge-driven decision-making.

Richard Clarke, practice lead for retail consulting at Fujitsu Services said: “Success in retailing is all about making the right decisions: every day retailers are making thousands of planning, ranging, pricing, inventory, logistics and staff scheduling decisions. The Business Analytics solution will help retailers make smarter decisions; vital in order to attain and protect competitive edge. We have developed Business Analytics for Retail in response to retailer demand for a more cost-effective solution which can systematically capture, analyse and action data to improve performance.”

Offering a multi-channel analytics capability to measure and manage an integrated multi-channel customer experience across web, store, call centre and catalogue, Business Analytics for Retail industrialises the decision support process, integrating disparate data pools to deliver faster, cheaper and more reliable business insight to those who need it.

Fujitsu has signed agreements with key partners to provide the infrastructure required to offer an end-to-end multi-channel business intelligence managed service that embraces IT infrastructure, analytics reporting and portal-based decision workflow.
